I've been coding for a couple of years now, and always have been using comments. Mind you, I only started using a lot of them when I started with PHP code and other open-source, interpreted languages.
Right now, I'm still a better C coder than PHP, and you can tell by what approach I take to solve various things.
Reverting from magnetic to optical, and now back to magnetic? Wouldn't that be too simple to screw up the microwire by realigning the magnetic features incorrectly?
I guess if they can improve it, it'd be all right.
When I blog, I don't divulge personal things... just updates on open-source stuff and some stuff regarding life. I blog with only things that I'd back up and say on TV.
I'll try it, though I still prefer MSOffice because of its color scheme and better-organized features. It has only to do with MY preferences though, so don't criticize me because I don't support OpenOffice.
The UN sucks. Period. They can't even keep track of their own scams (hint hint- Oil for Food, Kofi Annan not being able to keep track of his son, etc.), let alone internet. What would they know about internet and cyber crimes? Some of them must be n00bs to internet computing and the like.
Come on, it should be common sense to install a firewall (no excuse, as Zone Alarm can also get the job done) before trying to access the internet...
Windows XP comes with a built in one, just use it to block off internet connections before doing anything else. Security flaws? I've been using Windows for years (95, 98SE, and now XP) and I've only gotten adware due to downloads, no viruses, Trojans, etc.! It's the user's fault, unless he/she's a n00b. Then, and only then, can you blame MS Support. But support's a different thing.
I hope not, we use SBC for our phone bills but AT&T DSL Service... so hopefully SBC won't rid us AT&T'ers of our 1.5Mbps connection and replace it with their cr@ppy 384Kbps connection...
I doubt the two will merge. They're the two biggest (not to mention only ones, that I know of) satellite radio companies, so I doubt that big review organization will allow the merge to go through.
I use a Logitech Cordless MX Duo set w/keyboard and mouse, and I bounded the iTouch button (I'll soon set it as the "My Home" one) to open FireFox and it works perfectly everytime. However if you're talking about one of the standard keyboards with the small rubber buttons near the top, it should be easy to change by finding the keyboard software that came with your vanilla computer.
I agree that we shouldn't gloat about FireFox's success too much for various reason, though I do admit that FireFox is obviously better than its competing products. Don't say I'm insane or stupid just because I'm not saying we should gloat all we want about FireFox.
Wait a minute! You're right and wrong about that. The government MUST have altered history books to reflect the changes! o_0
It's hard to keep up with conspiracy theories only because there are so many paranoid [and stupid] people on Earth that think they're actually right.
MS Office IS actually good, I don't see any reason why some people dislike it just because "oh no, evil M$ made it so it should suck." We got MS Office Pro 2003 and it's perfect and has everything I need, and I like its UI. Of course the latter is a per-opinion basis...
I don't really care about a new Apple Office Suite though...
This is not new info... there was an article in PC World about this a while back when it was sent to me. In short the Desktop search indexes all of your files and saves an index of your whole HD in a certain file that's unencrypted and easily accessible [enough].
Yes.
I personally think that if the Indian people are great programmers, then they should indeed feel free to come over here and work to help our economy. However, one point of resentment is because (I saw this on 20/20 or Dateline a while back) some Indian universities make it a requirement to study really hard in computing areas, go to the US, make money and get a job from a US firm, and send money home to India, not necessarily their family.
Outsourcing is bad, even if it helps the Indian programmers because the price is our economy and companies.
I hate this, now the Chinese are digesting our good companies, and we're letting them.
Amen.

Exactly!
As long as Google Desktop encrypts the index to AT LEAST 256-bits, I'll be happy.

XM continues to beat Sirius...
I'd prefer it if XM doesn't merge with Sirius. However, if it's required to keep competition against stupid Virgin Mobile, I guess it's a must.
Amen.

Why use a Dell server anyway? Why not build your own or get a colocated one at thePlanet?

I hate RAR archives. I use WinZIP (which seems to be more widely supported) and 7-Zip. I use the latter to open up tar.gz archives.
Yeah. When I used free hosting I could understand the ads, because the people had to make some profit...
Or mySQL, or even PostgreSQL.
AMEN!
People, just stop blaming MS for once!

Common sense, please!
Google's a search engine company, I don't want to see any other product from them.

NetGear or Linksys already made Pre-802.11N equipment.
I hope that Linksys will give free firmware updates being how good they are right now.
