That's why you don't always ask consumers what they want, because they oftentimes don't know.
Also, the hidden tag on the end of "we want a handheld that can come close to our home machines" is ", but doesn't cost as much as our home machines."
I actually suggested this to an EA exec and they balked at it, saying "Eh... DS memory... *evasive muttering*... we really think the PSP is the way to go, etc."
You act like using a franchise more than once means it's the same game. It's not.
People anticipate Nintendo making gameplay changes that make the games fun. No two Mario Karts are the same, for example.

I'm pretty sure when they said, "Opportunity Time" they meant "Loading Time," because based on the games I've seen, once the thing is done loading everything, your "opportunity time" is all but spent.
They're doing this a lot now. They did it with NBA Street (Mario, Peach, Luigi... all playable), Fight Night Rd. 2 (Little Mac unlockable, Super Punchout playable).
Definitely on the right track for them.
Of course this would happen. Videogames allow wannabe "thugs" to act out the life of crime, money and hookers that they wouldn't dare to live in real life.
But did Konami ever make a platform game using bongo control? They're at least innovating with how you can control the games. And Odama looks to be a treat... pinball action with bongos!
EyeToy was certainly innovative, but connecting "innovation" and "success" probably isn't the best idea.

Metroid's a demo, yes, but a demo of a game coming out in May.
