I miss my dreamcast. I bought one when it first came out and got all the neat toys. It looked so good with the VGA adapter. Soul Caliber II was awesome. I even liked Shenmue. Sold it to get a XBOX. Missed it ever since. Been seriously considering getting a used one though, ever since the 360 came out. Might just do it for christmas...
At home I get wireless internet as my main internet service. I can tell you this would come in handy as there is only one connection/account allowed at a time, which means that I could have my computer online at the same time as my DS/Revolution. So, in all there could be some usefulness to this.
I don't know about everyone else, but LCD or not I can't stand to read anything longer than a slashdot article (or its impending dupe!) on a screen. I have to have paper.
FTA "fearful of suffering a similar fate as the music industry, which has been hit hard hit by piracy enabled by file-swapping services."
Since when is the music industry in a real slump?
About the movies, I wish they would do this and make it as portable/open as possible, but as we all know it will be DRM'd out the ass and completely unusable except at Uncle Bob's house on Tuesday after 5pm.
I suscribe to the "try it and buy it if you like it after a week" philosophy. I don't see anything wrong with it. Thing is I've never been convinced that the artist (the person I wish to support with my money) actually sees any money from a CD purchase.
Downloading TV on BT is a great thing. I often miss my favourite shows (i.e. medium) or can't get them at all in the US (i.e. Dr. Who). It's TiVo-like function without the TiVo. And, with a video out I just watch it on my TV like I would normally and waste 42 min instead of a full 60 min.
Personally, I think this MindJack guy gets it. **AA's should pay attention to what he's said. There is money out there for them to make if they just try. Lazy bastards!
Which is why they should embrace this distribution medium. I'd pay for a "good" TV show without commercials if I could download it for a reasonable amount. I admit I d/l all kinds of shit, but I buy the good stuff. The rest ends up in the big ole' recycle bin in the sky. Instead of suing new distribution methods, why not try it out and see if it works? my 0.02 c
I don't own a TiVo, but using BitTorrent I've been watching HDTV quality shows on my PC for about 3 months. Man is it sweet. I hope those **AA bastards lose. When are they gonna learn to adopt a new distribution system rather than beat it with fancy lawyers.
I like the fact that Balmer questions whether or not corporations should even be involved in social issues. The big answer is no. I'm so sick of these rich SOBs in Hollywood and CEOs pushing their agendas on everyone else because they've got the money. No thanks I can think on my own Bill.
I'm so frustrated with Nintendo. It's like they haven't gotten it since the early 90s with the SNES. CDs? Who needs those?
Whatever defines their self-made revolution had better be the end all to games for it to fly. PS3 and 360 are going to appeal to the masses and steal away more of Nintendo's turf. I myself am considering jumping ship as Nintendo has failed to inspire me this last generation as it did with the first two.

Ah... I am humbled by your wit! Touche!
Actually, isn't -40 the point at which Celsius and Fahrenheit intersect?
A bit like the Truman Show, or just like older TV where the action stopped to deliver a message from "our sponsors."

Personally, I believe that means they need to upgrade. All of us BT users have just been preparing the ISPs for this sort of thing. ;)

This program is no more than a glorified decentralized chat proggy. Anybody figured out where to find people yet? The Hive
Are these "hats" going to have pink triangles?
