As an anarchist, i will ask from all writers not to abuse this term, anarchism is about people struggling for freedom from capitalist explotaion and state repression, it has nothing to do with primitive vandalism, and actually, many anarchist, among myself are self-proclaimed to be pacifists and non-violent in their nature. so please, next time you wish to refer to vandalism, call it vandalism, not anarchism, as this puts a black label on many anarchists which have little do to with useless violence and destruction.
You want a good word processor other than microsoft?Applixware,StarOffice,WordPerfect, and soon gwp and go Yoy want a good spreadsheet?just take a look at gnumeric, it's quite close A browser better then IE?I use the good old netscape 3, and i think it's better than both ie and netscape 4.0
You know, file sharing and web servering were done long time before OLE and ActiveX, and they have nothing to do with web servers and file servers. furthermore, recent tests have shown that Linux+Samba(a file server which uses NT's protocol) totally outform NT.look here. besides, Linux today supports Corba, a DCOM alternative
listen to what Brest is saying, let's do not try to automaticly classify it FUD. what he is saying is that people should consider Linux, but not to run Linux just because everybody do. Maybe as a linux fan i don't like to hear it, but there is something in what he is saying.
It did work, in chile, during the early 70's, a socialist presidence was elected in democratic elections. The U.S. however, helped his opposition, led by General finushe to take over the country.that finushe btw, killed over 30,000 from chile, and of course the U.S. didn't do anything about it.
The reason that the socialism didn't work was because it was made by dictators, and not by the PEOPLE. the only success of the capitalism is to make a society where there are from one side people who are starving and in the other side people who are as rich as bill gates.
As OSS was for years in the desktop, but now look what KDE and GNOME did.
If you don't buy these games, than the companies will have no choice other than releasing the source code, and when they do, those games will become even better
i strongly disagree, the quality of opens source games improve slowly, look at lincity and freeciv, they are not perfect, but they are quite good. it's just like a few years ago people said that the desktop is going to stay properity, and now look at KDE and GNOME. it's all a matter of time, you just have to believe
the communism was a bad thing, free software is a socialist/anarchistic ideal, intends to free people, not to put them in a cage like happend in russia that was controlled by the communist party, or like happening today in the western world, specificly in the U.S, where the capitalists control.
why not?first, people said you can't get a good free software.then they said you can't get a good free OS, and now they say you can't have good free games.
The congress made these copyright laws to protect the monopoly of cooperations, not the rights of the artists.

Linus only maintains the kernel, and the part he wrote is very small.the libc, gcc, emacs, vi, all of these were made by FSF and GNU

it's a "positive" racism, but it's still a racism.
No, I don't want everybody to be the same.I just want
everybody to have the same ability for the same life quality.

Linux does not need more commerical software, i will prefer to see more development of freeciv so it will outform his commercial competitor
