  1. Re:YouTube Is Not Censoring Dumb @ss! on YouTube Accused Of Censorship · · Score: 0

Going through school, I don't remember a single teacher telling me to "consider the source" when reading or ".....audience" when writing. In fact, the teachers preferred when you just accepted what was said without question.

  2. Re:Xfire? on The New Brat Pack of Silicon Valley · · Score: 0

Yes, yes you are. Allow me to enlighten you.

Xfire is a program that lets you add buddies, like AIM, and tells you what game said buddies are playing. It includes an IM client, VOIP client, download manager, and if you and a buddy share the same game, you can join whatever server he is in.

A good idea, all in all.

South Carolina blows. It is too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter. We have ice storms, mosquitos, a wee bit of snow, rednecks, and nothing for miles. Looking at my region of the state (NW) from the sky shows we live in a big forest. The roads are tiny and dangerous, the schools are 2nd to last in the nation (suck it 50th!), and we ceded from the USA first during the civil war.

And I'm not saying that because I like it...........y'all.

  4. Re:Kids eat what their parents eat on Big Mother Is Watching · · Score: 0

Yes, IAAK (I am a Kid), and the parent is right. My house generally has nothing to eat but dried pasta or stale bread. I go to look for something to eat (us kids get hungry every 2 hours), and I see canned soup, soda, or some suspicious looking apples. The moldy kind of suspicious. There's even some dried ramen, cheap brand, in case you wanted to destroy your body a little bit at any given moment. I'd be much happier with a healthy snack, be it fruit, vegetables, meat, or grains than any of the junk they have in stores. Besides making you feel depressed (ever eaten a buncha boxes of wheat thins in a row?), they do little to abate the hunger. Bottled water is convenient and healthy, it doesn't stain when it spills, and it's cheaper than gasoline. As a warning to parents, don't ever ask your kids what they want from the grocery store. Not only is the question annoying, but it also invites junk food and drinks into the house. Buy healthy stuff, prepare it, and leave it sitting around for eating. It works.

  5. Re:hahaha on The Hybrid Scooter · · Score: 0

The sooner gas prices go up, the sooner I quit driving, the sooner I get fired. I have an old car and $1200, there isn't a viable alternative for me to get around in a country town. I could bike 8 miles on the highway, but I'd probably make it 2 before getting hit on those awful roads. Drivers are crazy these days.

Many people hail the end of gasoline cars that destroy the enviroment, but fail to see the human repercussions. I can't simply go out and buy an electric car, the electric bill would drive up and I don't have enough money anyway. Hybrid? Maybe if I were carrying $40k in my pocket. My best bet right now is to car pool, and no, there isn't any public transportation. Buses simply don't carry people from nowhere to nowhere.

Have we lost when there are laws banning racial discrimination? Did we lose when women gained the right to vote? Is America over now that we have pulled out of a cold war? Compaired to 100 or even 50 years ago, America is a better place to live for Joe Citizen. The government infringes our rights daily, and used to do so daily, only now everybody reports it. Tell me you haven't always had an image of creepy people in black suits coming to take people away. The government makes the laws, and as the government makes them, so can it take them away. This illusion of Democracy and Democratic Republic have always been illusions. More and more people are waking up to the reality, and the question is whether or not they will accept it. If not, how will they change it? That is where America is headed.

The goal isn't necessarily getting a good copy out on the p2p networks, it is getting -a- copy out. If you were to average to files together, you become untraceable to the music companies, thus circumventing their scare tactic of, "we'll hunt you down if you distribute it."

  10. Ipod + Car = Death on Talking iPods · · Score: 0

This is a very good step in the right direction. If you've ever tried to ride in as a passenger in a car with someone who insists on playing their best music on their ipod for you, you know what I mean. "Put down the ipod and drive you crazy......YOU'RE IN THE WRONG LANE" "Want to listen to Queen?" Aforementioned driver is splitting time between the ipod and road, not a comforting thought. Considering teenagers have ipods, and teenagers are unexperienced, and teenagers are being distracted while driving, text to speech can save lives.
