  1. Re:Morrowind on What Are Some of Your Favorite RPG Quests? · · Score: 1

The quest I remember most from Morrowind: While exploring some mountains, in the middle of nowhere, complete wilderness, a fellow (half-orc if I recall correctly) is standing there in armor. He talked to me and told me that he no longer desired to live; that he wished to die a warrior's death. And he attacked me until he got what he wanted. Umber was his name and his sword I kept. I just loved all of the unexpected things that Morrowind would throw at me.

  2. An interesting listen-to on CNN Interviews with Harlan Ellison, Bruce Sterling · · Score: 1

although I'm unsure it really did more than simply reaffirm what we already knew: that Hollywood often fails at accurately representing the genre of Science Fiction.

  4. Conspiracy on Larry Page's Vision of the Future · · Score: 2, Funny

Someone's vision for the future next to the story about the time travellers' convention.

Wait now. This sounds like its only on message boards eh? I've never heard the term "post" applied to an email attachment or IM attachment. However it does say "...by posting Content on an AIM Product, you grant AOL...". So I'm confused as to what exactly they can use. Are there any lawyers on here?

  6. Re:Big Brother is Watching on RFID Cards to Include Tin Foil Hats? · · Score: 1

Putting tracking and data recording devices in everything and transmitting personal data over open frequencies doesn't make me feel much safer.

  7. Big Brother is Watching on RFID Cards to Include Tin Foil Hats? · · Score: 4, Insightful

This is an early precedent towards a totalitarian state. We say, "Okay, that sounds resonable." Then, they do it with something else, something slightly more intrusive. You know the government wants to put tracking devices in every car for "taxation purposes". Another precendent. There are already black boxes in most newer model cars that save some of the statistics of your driving. Call me paranoid, but I don't like this kind of stuff, and I seem to be in the minority.
