Umm.. actually its 24 hours of streaming video in a ~30-day span
so, 45 minutes/day
And I'd say it's my god-given right to watch an hour of streaming video a day, or pay for a plan that allows me to.. but all the major carriers are moving to capped plans so..... Yay grandfathered AT&T Plan!
Seriously, god bless the American Free Market system....
I would insert a parallel to Slavery from the past, but it'd probably get marked as a Troll or Flamebait... So... I'm just gonna call this "The new form of slavery".. You're bought and paid for by one company, and you're stuck there making whatever wage they give you regardless of the value of your contributions/knowledge/development (since no one else will be able to hire you for what you're grown to be worth)
There's some concern that many GPS units scan above and below their allowed frequency to help filter & find the signal they are looking for... Meaning 'cheap' GPS units are reading signals outside their allotted band as part of their filter to allow the devices to be cheaper..
So ASSUMING Lightsquared, operating 100% within their spectrum, and not interfering with GPS frequencies, could still interfere with GPS because the GPS Unit itself is using part of Lightsquared's spectrum for filtering purposes..
Deere Tractors has an issue with this because their tractors have $15,000 GPS Units that fall into this category, so instead of fixing all the farmer's tractors, they'd rather keep LS from operating through politics
From what I gather from that article.. Many GPS devices are "operating" outside their spectrum as well -- They scan frequencies just above and blow their spectrum to help 'filter' and find the signals they want... This means cell towers operating within their proper frequency would screw up GPS receivers that need that out-of-band data to help filter
People are free to think/say whatever, as long as the course still is taught in a non-religious method disseminating facts to students... If you believe the facts are wrong feel free to research alternatives and teach your own class in the future..
I think the difference is... I'm not sure the judge can order fb to keep accounts open --- FB could be ordered to provide information... But fb still should be allowed to close/lock accounts that are violating their business practice...
if it were a fault of the business sure... But FB in this instance is a third party in the dispute. Force the information out from the company... But do not order the company to continue to serve those 2 customers if they choose not to
They are not obligated to keep the accounts open due to the court order either, so facebook might close the accounts to avoid being dragged into publicity --- of course, the TOS being the reasoning (which arguably wouldn't even need to be called on since they are a private business)
He'd probably get off by giving the officer a laugh..
"Look, it's hands-free!"
But in seriousness, the article points out the guy can put it in speakerphone, which can satisfy most state laws on hands free.. I think the design is actually quiet handy and well thought out to support both ""Holding"" it to his ear (those who didn't check the article, it's embedded in the forearm).. but also serves very well for texting (like a Power Glove (tm).. of sorts.. just with a phone UI)
IMO, great idea.. I'm glad someone was willing to work with him on that.. if only such things could be more main-stream;-)
They really need to fix their service first... Anyone know how to (actually) remove a watched movie from your instant queue on firefox 7? Seems even in safe mode, once a movie is added it can't be removed (even by clicking 'Remove')... 90 movies in queue and growing! (40+ watched.. Getting harder to find movies since you can't number rank instant watch anymore)
Make the robocall companies pay in advance (and the check clears)... then allow them to use that money with a carrier to pre-pay the receiving end's bill for the call. Set it federally at a minimum of 5 or 10 cents/minute and let the market (carriers) control the cost they bill the robocallers.
Some carriers will outright not allow their customers to be called, others may raise the rates... but no one can lower it below 5-10 cents/minute before taxes, fees, etc.
Make the dialers pay for those robocalls... and no cost to the consumer.
I actually like that idea more then free incoming calls.. especially when people find very low cost outgoing services to make the call, they still have to pay 5-10 cents/minute for cell phones
Obviously this is because they need more loopholes and tax breaks to keep people at work... Because they wouldn't have fired people just to maximize profits if they saved more money on taxes!
I would suspect that unless *Gamestop* advertises there is a coupon inside, they are not falsely advertising.... It was not there advertisement --- Think similar to Fast food chains "In participating stores" -- They can't force all privately owned stores to follow a promotion...
So even though the game might be advertising it, I don't believe they can force their advertisement on others (but by the same token, those same game designers are not required to sell their product to Gamestop, or barred from having a contract in place that doesn't allow them to do this if they want to sell their products)
They specified a brand and model that had to be used (e.g. the net result would be an X% increase in speed).. I think they also limited the hardware modifications you can do.
So this is a test to make a hard drive 'over clock' and I believe they mean it in the sense like we do for CPU and memory -- Software/voltage/etc.. More cooling would be okay, but not disassembly of the hard drive
Plans were not unlimited to begin with (unless your plan was 6-7+ years old)
They always had a 5GB Cap, so all this "They are not longer unlimited, they are now 2/5/10GB caps" is misleading -- you're actually getting a middle-man choice now...
Before most carriers went from 100/200MB to 5GB(aka ""Unlimited""), nothing in the middle. You paid either $15 or $30/month for ~200MB/5GB respectively. At least now the options are more like 200MB/1GB/2GB/5GB/++ with a better price structure.. And I do like that T-Mobile doesn't charge extra for going over.
But the plans were not really unlimited to begin with.
No zombie killing this year, maybe after the crazy guy carries the 1 we can try again next year... It's Saturday@6:45pm in New Zealand and apparently they are all still there:-(
It would be unreasonable to expect Grandma & grandpa who barely know how to turn on a computer to learn Linux...
"For securing a home network" = Basic computer skills, not the linux lovers (unless linux becomes more wide spread and taught to people)... so Compared to Windows 2000/Vista/etc.. recommending people use 7 for Home Networks (as in, those not in the slashdot community) is a perfectly reasonable suggestion
I love politics, it brings out stupidity on both sides
yes, the republicans are 100% in agreement with their stance.... so are democrats... WORK IT OUT, instead of accusing each other of being idiots or uncooperative. As an independent I ignore most politics in congress because neither side views independent voters as people anyway (when it's not an election year)... All I see from here is both sides bickering over a few million dollars when last year congress approved over $40 billion in earmarks... Great, issue one less earmark on the next bill and this budget crisis is solved keeping all currently passed laws valid and funded...
Stop holding citizens in fear (terror), to promote either sides religious, political or ideological goal.... and deliberately target or disregard the safety of civilians unless your sides demands are met (Sorry for the paraphrased plagarism, public editors on Wikipedia)
Pass a budget now.... Then later chip away at the costs/budget going forward by passing laws to remove laws or costs from the budget. Not by financially starving a passed law you don't agree with (in 2-4-6 years, it's going to be reversed, and they'll get payback.... This does not help out country any at all as we're now risking millions of peoples jobs for a political agenda by one party or the other (Remember, I'm independent, I see both parties pull this stunt)
I suspect a shutdown would actually lead to what I am saying they should do anyway.. If one in 5 federal workers risked not getting a paycheck (80% of the government does not get "shut down" in a "shut down" anyway), they would want their party to compromise. Right now there's not enough of it
My iPhone doesn't tell me when an app wants permission to connect to the internet or share/sell my personal information with 3rd parties :-(

"violate human rights and unfit for a democratic country"
He needs to get better fact-checkers. The United States of America is a Republic, not a Democracy.

well at least your passengers can tell you to "watch out for that car!" the person on the other end of the phone can't...
The peope I talk to tell me that!! Regular comedians, they are...
Wrong, Sir. Facebook is obviously infringing on apple's intellectual property by building a data center that has 4 walls, a floor, and a ceiling.
