"For the next-generation console, we plan to introduce a friendly user interface so that, for example, a mother who's watching her child playing a game might say, 'Oh, I'd like to try that too.'
Somehow I get the feeling that we can say goodbye to duel thumbsticks...
Although I cannot speak for everyone,
I doubt that the thousands of slashdotters who have been boycotting EA games as a result of the employee abuse have been helping their stock all that much.
To be honest, I don't see why anyone is so worked up over this. Law enforcement has been "hiring" hitmen in order to find and arrest them for decades.
(and no, I do not support antiP2P groups in any way at all).
Before I first got my computer my spelling was abysmal. Virtually every word I spelled was incorrect. However after joining several forums devoted to some of my hobbies I realized my spelling would have to get better, and spell check just didn't cut it. So with incentive of the computer I forced myself to just learn the words I had trouble with, and I did. Also thanks to IRC, ICQ, and slashdot (trying to get that pesky first post) with the speed of typing that is required, my typing speed has also gotten better. So nobody can say that computers have hindered my learning. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to pull a quick ALT+F4, I hear my mom coming and I'm supposed to be learning Japanese.
The employment environment at EA was built to allow you flexibility as professionals
Flexible, as long as sleeping, eating, and having friends are not factors in your life.
Also, denying bonuses to those who dare oppose them... erm... Request overtime pay, is pretty low. If I was an EA employee, barr quitting, (after stealing tons of office supplies), I would take overtime pay over the so called bonuses because knowing the way EA treats their livestock, sorry.. employees, you won't see a bonus. ever.
While talking to my boss Chris about how Mcafee patented the firewall a few weeks back
He made the point: "Do you think the guy who awarded the patent even know what a firewall is?"
I think the point still stands.
I'm sure that this bill will only have a positive effect if it gets voted in, but paper reciepts are pretty useless and a waste of money IMHO.
Not exactly. With paper ballets it leaves less room open for fraud. Example:: A hacker breaks into the voting system. Seeing as how the ballot voting system is based on wondows ME, this is not unlikely.
With paper involved, if said h4x0r adds on, say 1400 votes for candidate X, they will have a paper trail allowing them recound the ballots quickly, effectivly, and without dragging things on for months and months (florida anyone)?
But thats just my opinion based on what little I know...

aah ok, forgive my misinformation in that case.

strange, it renders quite well in FF on my computer.
Considering the number of internet users out there, 6% is a rather large number.
In other news, bill gates reportedly bit the hand that used to feed him...
Considering George Lucas judges the yearly star wars fanfilms, this seems unlikely.
Now if only somone would make a fanfilm involving the horrific death of jar-jar...
Wasn't something like this reported on a while ago?http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/08/06/14 9207&tid=172&tid=193&tid=1

Pokemon meets vegas, I can't wait...
Didn't they already have the KA rating? (Kids to adults). How is this any different?

And they say Halo 2 is bad for me. Well who's laughing now? I have a medical stamp of approval!1!eleven!

This is the 42nd one? I wonder if that means anything...
