Really? Politicians and political action groups - people who are willing to do just about anything to get elected or extend their power - are willing to 'astroturf'? Seems like a small sin compared to the shenanigans they normally stoop to.
Or doesn't work properly if you have JS disabled since they removed or disabled the old comment controls. In a similar vein, the W3C test results are presented via some javascript crud. Assuming that is that the visitor has it enabled.
A lot of website functionality is built with JavaScript - that's just a fact of life. You don't have to enable it, but you really can't complain when websites don't cater to the small minority of users who either disable or block all scripts. We're trying to get sites not to support the dying number of IE6 users, and I'd be willing to bet the % of users not using JS is even lower than IE6 users. If all sites were simply written in HTML there would be a lot less 'web' out there.
IE 9 is currently the most HTML5 compatible browser - but are they only testing the new HTML5 features? How does it do on the HTML4 code that is currently 99% of all the code on the internet?
I wonder if they could get a larger grant from Google or Facebook or the NSA or [insert large organization name here] to get a guaranteed result of "things are just fine, nothing to see here"?
Its rather Ironic that a company who's business relies on spying (cough) tracking what other people do should ban an app designed to track what people are doing.
Yes, but the Golden Rule clearly states "Do as I say, not as I do".
This is a good move by Google even if it will resemble Apple's 'app store governance' to some degree. Google needs to protect their customers/product (one and the same).
It's one of those bureaucratic loopholes. Without the GSA schedule and number, you can be dismissed from any offering regardless of how much time you put in. Did they really not have one? Almost seems like a bad oversight.
If they had been using their "magic wifi gathering devices" they surely could have picked one up somewhere.
Really? Even if these captchas actually turn out easier to use than the current ones? I mean no more guesstimating which bit of what overlapping miscoloured squiggles belong to which potential letters (and is that a 1 or an l? O or 0?), just a quick message and an easily identifiable word within it.
Yes, really. How long do think it's gonna be before they make it hard to get the right answer to force you to watch it again (or a different one).
Yes, this is going to endear me to EA and Disney - basically not only making me wait through an ad, but FORCING me to pay attention to it.
What it's going to do is force me to avoid any and all EA & Disney ads (and anyone else who pulls this shit). Pages are chock full of ads, some sites put a paragraph on each page and force users to find it amongst the advertising. I'll skip any site that uses this because there's nothing on the internet I need or want bad enough that I'll be forced to watch their ad and take a test at the end of it. Not gonna happen.
Google is a Search Engine not a Magic 8-Ball (yet)... though it would be interesting to see what their predictions are if they could be posted before the elections but not accessible until after the results are in (I'd hate for Google to inadvertently affect the outcome of any election).
You had furniture in your school? We had to make do with moldy cardboard boxes for desks and sharp piles of rusting scrap metal for chairs, and we had to collect the scrap metal ourselves from train yards and storm drains.
We had to use cleverly arranged FedEx boxes Sure, we sold out, but we all got free mouse pads!
There's an app for that ;-)

I'm sure I'm missing something here -- what is it?
If it makes you feel any better IE 9 is 100% Microsoft compatible ... the most Microsoft compatible browser under development.
You may want to post that in the other thread ... you know, the one about anonymizing data?

This is the first piece of SkyNet. Once a robots get a clear overview of the battle field it will all begin. We're doooomed!

Yes Google, but is Prop 19 going to pass??

Is it any relation to AWESOM-O?
Clearly someone thought of the poor struggling lawyers. They needed some love too.
I thought lawyers just used high-priced hookers.
You're confusing Lawyers with Charlie Sheen. Charlie Sheen uses lots of lawyers and high-priced hookers. Interesting ...
Does anyone in Korea understand what SATIRE fucking is?
Isn't that when you get screwed by a comedian?
Those 'needs' are almost always satisfied when you have enough:
a. money
b. power
I'm not saying that this price range is out of the question, just that, as noted in another post in this thread, Cherrypal has a history of not shipping orders.
Considering it's a scam and will never ship I don't think Apple will have to go too far to stop them.
Isn't Flash supposedly sandboxed? And, what the hell is Flash doing in a PDF viewing utility?
Sandboxed? More like litter boxed.
Adobe said that a Flash update is scheduled for (Patch) Tuesday, November 9. Updates for Acrobat and Reader are scheduled for the week of November 15.
Adobe's Acrobat, Reader & Flash are the weakest security links on any PC. This isn't really news any more ... it's expected.

'We've seen in adults that if you put them in the right chair, their performance increases,'
The 'right' chair is my desk chair at home. My productivity is always better when I'm working from home rather than being on-site at a client.
