If you are vaccinated, shouldn't you not have to worry about getting measles? Only the un-vaccinated will be affected? Where is the problem?
As I said above, these people dont just die in their homes. They then go to some of the most expensive healthcare facilities in the world to be treated, wasting resources which could be better used elsewhere.
Then there is the exposure risk to infants too young to receive the vaccine. Should infants be exposed because some idiots think a measles vaccine is dangerous? Herd immunity only works if the herd all gets vaccinated...
YOU DO NOT ENDANGER OTHERS IF YOU ARE NOT VACCINATED. You endanger yourself; it's to train your immune system. Yes, you could carry and spread it to other people WHO ARE NOT VACCINATED.
So people who refuse get sick and die because of their own decisions. That is the way it should be. Furthermore, remove the idiot warning labels on plastic bags etc.
Get away with this and you open up the door for future corrupt politicians to force things into your body against your will. Colon cancer is a real problem in the USA, why don't they force cameras up our colons while they are at it? (yes obviously you volunteer for that under the right conditions because who wants to die of that? but it's your choice and not a 1 size fits all policy which easily can be done 10x as much just to give more money to a lobby group.)
You think they just die in their homes? No. They go to some of the most expensive healthcare facilities in the world to be treated (i.e. NYC and USA in general), and ultimately costs our health system through resource utilization and direct/indirect costs that could be spent in far better ways..
I have 30-40 friends that I check their Facebook accounts occasionally over the past few years but find myself not even bothering anymore.
All but a few have bother posting anything for months and in some cases years. Those few that are still active for the most part do so just with profile picture changes or other minor updates.
I don't know anyone who has bothered to 'leave' as in deleting their accounts. It feels like a ghost town with food still left on the table from months to years ago when the people just left and never came back.
Facebook's stock is going to be one of the greatest shorts in the history of the stock market. It's only a matter of when.
Exactly what I've seen as well. People just aren't sharing and when they do it's hidden in endless sponsored posts.
What was great about facebook a decade ago was it really was just your friends sharing stories. Now it's a newsfeed full of crap you dont care about. Additionally, people just added everyone on the planet as "friends", when they really were just people you met once or twice. Once you get to hundreds and thousands of "friends" your feed is going to be full of crap you dont care about once again...
Do you have a source for that? This source says that New York's per capita federal tax is $8,849.66 and North Dakota's is $6,690.84. Doesn't seem like such "simple terms" to me.
haha, well done. I meant to ask this anonymous coward troll for proof.
One other thing, ND GDP is $49.77 billion. NY State is 1.547 trillion. ND is a rounding error for NY state. But keep telling using the per capita number so you believe ND citizens are contributing more...
Per capita, North Dakota has an even higher "give" rate than New York. North Dakota is not known as a "high tax state", so why do THEY contribute so much more to the fed than other states?
Per capita, seriously? You can slice and dice however you like to make it look better, but NY and other states contribute FAR more in total to the fed budget than North Dakota.
Fact is infrastructure costs money, North Dakota is a state with mostly nothing in it to maintain, and it's population is minuscule at 760k versus 19.5 million in NY state. This number difference massively skews the analysis to make it ND better on a "per capita" (i.e. you're dividing with a very small number versus a VERY large number).
the law disproportionately hurts “donor states,” like New York, which already contributes $48 billion more annually to the federal government than it gets back. You're no income tax states that you say are subsidizing high tax are NOT, in fact they are sucking down from the fed gov more than they contribute.
Thank god, it should have never existed. It just means those in states with no or low income tax are subsidizing those that live in places like NYC or CA. Now maybe those people will realize how much all their taxed out the ass govt programs cost.
Too simplistic thinking on your part. The high tax states contribute far more to the federal tax budget that the states with no or low state income taxes. For example, NY sends $38 billion more to the federal government than it gets back.
I bet also they realized it was going to be even more expensive to have employees in NYC due to the new Fed tax law. Higher tax states like New York have become even more highly taxed due to the cap on the state level income tax deduction from federal taxes (SALT).
Granted this is a skewed sample, but I've found most android folks I try to use hangouts with have to "find the hangouts app" to message them on it as they never use it.
Amazing how Google could so mess up messaging. It's a confusing mess now. I can't tell what product does what anymore.. Hangouts is mostly dead anyway as most folks seem to have moved on to other platforms.
The original Google Chat was such a success, Google just completely dropped the ball!
Apple products are banned in my household as your software is invasive,
You really think apple software is invasive compared to Android? I can see your other apple rant hate points but android is heck of a lot worse for privacy...
I am in the same boat. I would like a OLED screen, but.... I do not want a physically bigger phone. I do not want to give up the 3.5mm headphone jack (which I use everyday, while charging). I actually prefer Touch ID over the new Face ID garbage. I like having a home button I can physically feel and press without needing to look at the phone.
But my battery had fizzeled out. Wouldn't keep a charge, kept shutting down when cold. But Apple offered a new battery for $25, so now my iPhone 6 is good as new, and in my opinion, better in almost every way over the current gen models except for the OLED screen.
Make a phone a I WANT to buy, and at a reasonable price, and I might bite. Until then, I will probably replace the battery in my iPhone6 again 2-3 years from now. I don't care if I stop getting iOS updates.
Oh so the groups likely manipulating this scam are now moving it back "up in value" (value for a product that you can't do anything with).
Yes, folks should invest their life savings in something that can move 80% in a week. I am sure it's completely legitimate and safe long term investment!
We see this in other cities were they limit private cars and prioritize buses. Several cities have dedicated bus only lanes Mass transit then works faster is used more and moves more people.
Ah yes, another tech company that thinks it can do miracles in healthcare. Tons of companies have been trying to do natural language processing of medical notes, they all pretty much fail for one reason or another. The only time it works is for VERY specific scenarios where the question is extremely narrow and they spend a huge amount of time training the system for that question.
I've always thought it interesting that most people pay twice as much as they need to, even on the exact same network. There are several low-cost carriers such as Boost Mobile, which I've been very happy with.
From what I've been able to gather, people pay $100/month instead of $30-$35 for two reasons - the "free" phone (that actually costs them $2,000) and advertising / brand recognition. Phone companies spend a ton on advertising because it works. People buy the most-advertised phone service brands, which results in them paying for advertising.
Because there is a difference often in features (ex. T-Mobile's worldwide free data roaming, or ATT wifi calling both are only on their postpaid plans) and quality & breadth of coverage compared to MVNOs (like Boost you mention). I've tried various ATT MVNOs, in my expeirence while the service "worked" it was definitely not as fast or as solid a connection compared to my ATT postpaid plans. Boost mobile is an MVNO of one of the lowest ranked cellular service coverage and speed company Sprint.
Most postpaid are cheaper than $100 for service nowadays. I suspect anyone still paying $100+ for just service is likely using an ancient plan they don't want to give up. Even the most expensive cell carrier Verizon is cheaper than $100/line nowadays.
I know the best thing is to get android or apple people posting crap to generate ad views, but this is just pathetic. News for nerds, stuff that matters??
How sad to see this sort of article posted on what was once a great site for nerds.

Well, Im find as I dont use LTE I am using 5G E from AT&T
You folks stuck with 4G LTE are screwed now!
How can any company STILL not be hashing their user's passwords?
Miracast has been mirroring Android apps since 2012. To Windows or almost any TV. How is this remotely new or innovative?
Miracast was added as standard in Android 4.2, and then removed again in Android 6. Only some phones support it now.
Well nice thing about android, most folks wont ever seen those upgrades so i bet vast majority are still Miracasting away :P

If you didnt like the screen then return the phone next time. What a waste of time and resources this is, its a pure cash grab by some attorneys.

With such a huge install base with the original Gchat, it takes a certain knack to so drop the ball continually on messaging.
Google, how about just go all in on hagnouts or bring back Gchat?
