how can you ever fully trust nanotube sheets, maybe they actually conduct and amplify your thoughts making it even easier for them to pinpoint you deviants out there and eliminate you... or just listen to your thoughts... everyone has tinfoil, only deviants will have nanotube berets.
My power company is a monopoly, my local telephone service is a monopoly. Non-monopoly alternatives to these are not the same and very expensive.
yeah yeah, I know your point, but we do have monopolies in certain places because it would be a waste of resources to have more than 1 provider of certain expensive services. Often that's why we ostensibly have the government regulate these, but we've seen how well that works.
Yes actually. My HS Spanish Teacher loves meat, it really was no fun when she realized that in spite of her loving it, there were digestive imbalances in her that made it hard for her body to handle eating meat, and nine times out of ten, it would make her sick a day or two after eating meat.
Her sort of problem, and allergies plus those who simply don't like the taste will still cause people to avoid eating meat.
Yes. The flashing interferes with my LED display board indicating the status of my various servers, web apps, portals, web cams, Inboxes, mailboxes, trashcan level meter, powermeter, intruder alarm systems, upstairs parent monitoring services, mini-SAM site, and my few other personal indicators. Therefore I modded my vcr so that it wouldn't flash anymore...
Actually, that was a long time ago... I think that I took parts from the VCR to make my own homebrew tape Backup mechanism, and the LCD display is actually somewhere in the pile of such displays I'm stocking to make some project... once I figure out what I want. -- Maybe the largest dynamic display of digits of PI.
What???! Your microwave isn't connected to the internet? What's wrong with you? Time to climb out of the stone age my dear friend... You'll see that we have learned wonderous things in this Brave New World...
well for one Algae poetry is regarded as the definition of "Average" in terms of its ability to make you wish to end your own life, as compared to the pool of muck that is LJ-world. The only remaining debate is how much nicer the Vogon poetry actually is.
mine bluescreens while saving the ram to the HD... once that's out of the way, then it reboots
--HP laptop. I don't know if I've managed a bluescreen on my desktop
ps, you can use something like x-systems x-setup to tweak WinXP and there is an option to enable the "UserDefined Error" which is basically a bluescreen on demand. you hold something like Ctrl+Alt+Delete+PgDn (+one other key?) and then bluescreen pops up (with error message: User Initiated Crash) and then it does the save ram to HD and reboot.
Actually that "Anonymous Developer" is a liar or is wrong. There is a TPM chip in the devkits and OSXx86 requires it to be functional to install. I have seen the errors that occur. Now this TPM chip is not neccessarily being used as DRM instead being used in part to verify the integrity of files. It does have the added effect of making it difficult for any person to install the OS on a machine without the chip.
You misunderstand what you quoted... if they flood the system with votes, it matches them with the type of vote they make, when you use it you are matched with the type of vote you make... Thus, if you mod real files up then another user who mods real files up will trust your mods more than somebody else. If the evilpeople mod real files down and bad files up, then they will trust the mods of other evil people, but they won't trust your ratings, and you won't trust them.
Thus if you wanted to have a really easy way to find a list of crap files, you just have to mod down every real file you have, and mod up every piece of crap you have, then do a search. Your results will be clustered by the trust that the file you are getting is "like yours" or in that case, a fake.
A better idea in my mind would be to provide a dynamic cache, only enabled once the site goes down. That way the site gets their ad-revenue to the limit of the possible, and once it crashes, the cache is enabled for all the subsequent readers. This might be hard to implement, but I don't see any real objections to this.
They are renaming it. First it will be Computer... they say its because the "My" in "My Computer" "My Documents" etc was confusing/redundant... but OBVIOUSLY, the real reason is that they are moving towards "Our Computer" or "Their Computer" or "Not Your Computer"
its *them* who could be telling you this...

First, there is only so much the police can ever do in front of a mob, even when they are fully riot prepared.
Second, his summary says Jamaica.
they were modded down of course... That's why you can't see them, you should browse at -1 to see those trolls. ;)
the plans have been in your local town center on display for 20 years. Since you've had a lifetime of warning, you shouldn't be surprised.

well I'm gonna download it, especially since it was posted at 1pm - ish gmt, Today... so there wouldn't be that many completed downloads.

Shit man, the people who's names you remember WERE the beta testers. (Alpha, I agree, few came out alive)
