I, and tens of thousands of others, learned what pilfered was back in 7th grade playing mystery at marple manor on the c64. You are down a point on geek cred now, thanks, drive through.
... it just points out what should be practical thought in that no matter how redundancies you build, you can never escape the (RMS) Titanic effect. So stop claiming stupidity.
Yes but this is considered boring by the drones of reviewers that quit before the trial is up. The midas 'get something for nothing' attitude is prevalent here. Why Do people really expect to become the unstoppable uber miner/missioner/pvp'er during the trial?
I believe there is a loophole in this, where it is the individual who is in possession of the data not a health provider (i.e. The end user sets up this vault not the health provider). This releases the 'vault' from complying with HIPAA because of SEC. 1172. (a) APPLICABILITY.
I have heard this from more than one company trying to accomplish the same thing.
787 isn't a super jumbo. It is designed to carry around 310 passengers efficiently
747-400 carries upwards of 580 people packed into domestic flight style sardine load out.
It may crash spectacularly, but you will need 2 or more to crash into each other to make it up to the highest body count (surpassing Pan Am/KLM 583)
Sorry, don't mean to rewrite history but I'm pretty sure ibiblio was the 'new' name for sunsite.unc.edu, not the other way around.
Everything old is new again.
Actually the reason they settled on JW was so they could point it at the ground and learn what channels are being tuned to and when with everybody's remote controls.
Captchas always operate in the obvious fasion. Why not play a bit more devious and reverse the letters, reverse the order, enter characters which do not appear in this image, etc...?
Or, start asking trivia questions, ala the startup to some Leisure Suit Larry series... Oh wait I guess those didn't really keep me out. Nevermind.
How are you a "better" customer? A better customer is someone who pays money to use less services than your average customer. You are the worst customer imaginable. For the same amount of monthly fee, you are using countless times more resources than the "good customer" who forgets to even rent a movie a month. Consider yourself elite for being incompatible with a system that preys on dumb people.
Google's job won't be to create this, it already exists (http://www.openafs.org/). They will make it fast by meticulously mirroring 100,000,000TB of the worlds data to their innocuous looking cabinent/cellserver on your street corner, and your mom's streetcorner, and GW's streetcorner, etc... and pouring resources into integrating it better.
Agree! 50 postings for the same job that look like 50 different companies are lovely. It would be SOOOO hard to tell except for/. style proofing in the posting all spelling sparc as spark or some nonsense.
What is even more embarassing is how the RIAA believes it IS the law: said RIAA spokesman Jonathan Lamy. "We will now, of course, obviously dismiss this case.
I could have sworn that you ask a judge to dismiss a case, you don't just do it yourself.
Dear AP,
Please go post at the idealistic, feel-good-and-all-the-users-understand-logic board down the hall. This is the whine, bitch and moan about things you can't control (and things you can, but want to cry about anyway) board!
Regards,
The Management

Ignore me, my eye transplants are acting up again.

Except those 1-hit wonders are usually "album purchase only" tracks for some stupid reason :)
And I suppose their job actually entails composing emails with inline graphics in them?

I knew it, IBM will be the first corporation to exodous earth!
It doesn't have to be a conspiracy theory guys, it can be something simple.

Interesting. You suggest I succumb to a patent abuser (Amazon) to read about patent abuse?
Well... At least it's not stinky like a guy...

You don't have the slightest idea what it is, do you? I was going to moderate this down, but there was no selection for 'ignorant'
But now we can't find it and I'm going to have a hell of a time explaining the absence of the wall on the north side of the building.
It's to tantalize you with the disilicate pouch that you aren't supposed to eat, but secretly yearn to.

At least they are being responsible and tracking terrorists who use the product...
"you must file a special license if you intend to reroute goods to the embargoed regions of Serbia or the Taliban controlled areas of Afghanistan"
