Except that "You need a gaming beast PC" has been a myth for quite awhile now, hell you can play battlefield 4 on an AMD A10 7850k,which you can get in kit form for $345 after MIR, that is "Walmart PC" territory. Just slap on the free edition of Windows 10 and voila! $350 PC that will play most games at 30FPS, even comes with an SSD.
That is of course if your PC is truly ancient and you want a new PC, if its less than 7 years old or you don't mind going to Craigslist? You can get a gaming PC for just stupid cheap. The cheapest gaming PC was one I set up for a single mom down the hall as a favor, cost? $150! I just picked up a C2Q PC off of CL with 4GB of RAM, Windows 7 and a 500GB HDD (cost $75) and then $75 for an HD7750. He plays TF2 and other online shooters at 30FPS+ with no issue and since most games don't use quads to their full capability they can always pop in a $100 GPU in a year or two and keep right on gaming.
So the "beat PC for gaming" is just a myth, its for guys that care more about bench scores than game scores.

I quit giving it to customers a couple years ago when it became REALLY bloated. If you need a free AV I'd recommend Comodo or Avast Home, Comodo for those that want more control and more features (as it comes with vm desktop mode for secure browsing,an option to use their DNS for phishing site blocking, and the option to always run your browser in a VM) and Avast for those that just want an AV without the extras. Both are really good at stopping malware cold (in fact Comodo was one of the only free AVs that stopped the government sponsored malware that was in the news recently) and don't slow down the system like AVG did.
As for TFA? Its getting to the point where active measures are gonna have to be taken against the products we use as OOTB they are little better than spyware. That is why I'm glad I got my boys on PCs when they were little, ended up saving a ton over the years compared to consoles and I don't even want to know how much it would cost to keep tablets capable of playing the latest and greatest every year. the nice thing about X86 is that once we went multicore PCs quickly reached a point where they were more than capable, so that a C2Q or Phenom II has no problem playing the latest games without issue, hell even that HD4850 was playing games just fine, I just wanted a new card because the newer ones generate less heat.

The problem with switching is IMHO three fold, 1.- It is gonna cost probably a couple hundred million in routers and modems that cannot support IPV6, in fact if you look at places like Amazon and Newegg there are more routers being sold that doesn't support IPV6 even today than not, 2.- Years of treating IT workers as disposable means we simply do not have enough workers that can support all the headaches that are gonna happen with the switch, I know in my area most of the greybeards simply went into other fields because they were tired of being fucked by the MBAs, and my own personal beef 3.- Assigning everyone a unique IP means it will be trivial to track everyone, its gonna be meat on the table for your *.A.As and copyright trolls.
So you can see why switching hasn't bee a priority for most, its gonna cost a mint, shit is gonna break everywhere, and I wouldn't be surprised if it will end up with a shitload of requests from the *.A.As spamming the ISPs as they will be able to argue that "IP address does not equal individual" no longer applies.

I've built several systems with the Am1 chips, make great HTPCs and office boxes, hell you can even do light gaming on them like Skyrim and CoD:AW if you don't mind turning down the effects.

It would be nice if Wine could easily replace Windows, especially now that Windows is becoming spyware, but last time I tried it it just wasn't a good experience on anything really graphically intensive. Sure if you only want to play something like WoW or the Sims? It'll work fine, but for heavy graphics games? Not so much.

I quit giving it to customers a couple years ago when it became REALLY bloated. If you need a free AV I'd recommend Comodo or Avast Home, Comodo for those that want more control and more features (as it comes with vm desktop mode for secure browsing,an option to use their DNS for phishing site blocking, and the option to always run your browser in a VM) and Avast for those that just want an AV without the extras. Both are really good at stopping malware cold (in fact Comodo was one of the only free AVs that stopped the government sponsored malware that was in the news recently) and don't slow down the system like AVG did.
As for TFA? Its getting to the point where active measures are gonna have to be taken against the products we use as OOTB they are little better than spyware. We have 2 of the 3 major OSes spying on their users (and I have no doubt Apple will step theirs up with the iWatch tanking and iPad sales dropping) and now even AVs are being used as trojan horses to snatch your info. It must be a great time to work for the TLAs, after all these corps don't have to worry about any of those pesky domestic spying laws or warrants or any other minor inconveniences, just show up at MSFT or Google or AVG and get all the info you want on the user at a one stop shop, heck I bet they even provide coffee and donuts while they wait.

You DO realize your argument makes ZERO sense when you look at what actually happened which was the generals wanted to continue the war AFTER both bombs dropped so to say that merely SEEING the bomb would have given you a better outcome than actually dropping it? I'm sorry but that makes no sense.

As for the Nazis? 1 or even 2 bombs wouldn't have saved them as I would argue the second they invaded the USSR they were screwed as not only is the country simply too vast to be taken by a country the size of Germany at the time but frankly they made the fatal flaw of designing vehicles for German weather and NOT the kind of weather they would be facing in the USSR. Their tank tracks are too narrow for deep snow and mud and too many with interleaved wheels that makes repairs long and time consuming, everything ran on gas which becomes hard to start when the temps drop as low as they do in the Russian winters, and the front was so wide they would just never have enough men and machines to keep pushing forward. The only reason they got as far as they did was Stalin helping them by wiping out the leadership in the purges, this combined with early Soviet tanks and planes lacking radios meant that Germans could win battles with inferior gear just by being able to work as a group while the Soviets all fought as individuals. One or two nukes wouldn't have changed the fact that the allies outnumbered the Germans by nearly 20 to 1 in tanks by 44 or nearly 60 to 1 in bombers in the same period, in fact I would argue all that a nuke dropped on say Britain or the USSR would have done is stepped up the attacks in the hopes of taking them out before they could drop another.
