G is for growth Storage is an important part of email, but that doesn't mean you should have to worry about it. To celebrate our one-year birthday, we're giving everyone one more gigabyte. But why stop the party there? Our plan is to continue growing your storage beyond 2GBs by giving you more space as we are able. We know that email will only become more important in people's lives, and we want Gmail to keep up with our users and their needs. From Gmail, you can expect more. ------------------- Is this a joke or real?

  11. Re:Title Correction on Managing Information Security Risks · · Score: 3, Interesting

For some security intrusions windows itself is at fault. But in most security risks, I must admit, it is usually the USER's stupidity that has caused a catastrophe. Windows can't control itself, a user must guide it. And when that user is not experienced, windows cannot protect itself, therefore creating a security hazard.

  12. Release Dates on Apple Updates PowerBooks · · Score: 1

Usually when Apple released a new Gx to the marker in the forum of a regular computer, in the past, itsbeen about a year and a half until it is compacted into a laptop. As for these babies, why the sudden motion sensor? Is it for the screensaver, if it detects motion it turns it off? If so, smart idea, because it uses no human interaction. How long until G6? :-P

  13. Hmmmm... on Google Still Ahead In Search Competition · · Score: 2, Interesting

It seems that when Google does something innovative, EVERYONE follows suit. For instance, Google video, Google desktop search, Google translator, etc, etc. Some of those were actually there fist in obscure places and google found them and adapted them. Also, the issue with the algorithm in which Google ranks its pages in regular search is still under review, a la Google bomb. Try typing "Miserable Failure" in google and hitting I'm Feeling Lucky. Now, it's not that I dont agree with that statement, its that Google needs to fiddle with their search algorithm a bit. But, I still believe, Google catches the most relevant and the most results of any other serahc engine i've ever seen. And now they're coming out with Google Video, for searching what time your favorite program is on. http://www.video.google.com/ Plus the AdWords problem everyone else has mentioned.

  14. Prefixes on Verizon and Microsoft Partner for IPTV · · Score: 2, Interesting

IP over anything, I suspect, will be the new craze. First there was X[insertname], then it was i[insert capital letter and name here], now its VO[insertname]. They [consumers and companies] seem to go towards prefixes that sound cool and scientific. Like the cosmetics companies trying to make up names that sound very medical. Now they are marketing VOIP, it was about a year and a half from when it was first introduced and announced. Will this come early or late? 2005 or 2010?

  15. But.... on Verizon and Microsoft Partner for IPTV · · Score: 3, Insightful

Will the general public latch on to this? In the past, to my knowledge, they have not been jumping to joy to buy new equipment to use a service that ultimatly has less costs overall. Main Point : Comsumers are lazy. They dont want to have to do anything to get what they want. They want good TV, and they want it now.
