Ohh! So that explains why I clubbed that woman over the head and brought her to my computer cave! Maybe I'd better switch to Python, since it's the new buzz word and all the sophisticated people use it. ;) -- Josh

Ahhh, thanks for the laugh! That post was awesome! :) I haven't laughed like that from a post for a while now.

Perhaps you should respect a man who spends more time writing good code than one who will come up with a good name and then bust your balls just so you can buy the name. (Because half the time the product behind the name is crap.) Personally, I'd rather use a kickass product with a crappy name than a sucky product with a good name.

For all you Slashdotters who love to bash us marketing folks, people like Justin keep people like me in business. ;)

Yes, because it's creative people like Justin who make the product, and without them, you'd have nothing to name. ;)

Yes it does, especially since this is slashdot, and everyone you know probably amounts to about 3 people. ;)

I doubt an encoded hash counts as a derived work of a movie. Since you can have the same hash from multiple data sources, you'd be in copyright violation if you had the same hash, but it was from something else. I'm sure there is a limit to how derived works are determined, although IANAL.

I think he added to the mythology behind the book. He also added a little bit of mystery, and made you wonder what was going on in the Tolkien world in general.

Actually just use Alt-D to focus on your address bar real quickly.

To go to amazon, I would use:
    Alt-D

    Ctrl-Enter

    Bam, I'm there. :)

I think he should keep taking the code. As long as he notes where the code comes from, it's perfectly fine and ethical. The person with a problem should respond to some of those penis enlargement spams. :)

This is a repost of my message not using A.C., since it's score 0 and no one can see, and I'm shamelessy promoting my plugin. ;)

Dude, I've created a plugin for Trillian, that does more than this. It flashes all your keyboard lights (at once, or separately), and also plays sounds through your PC speaker. Plus you can have different sounds based on the contact messaging you. (Plus many more settings.)

You can download "Message Notifier" from the Trillian web site or from my site for free: http://www.geocities.com/joshprogramming/

Trillian has a ton of free plugins as well (see: http://www.civillians.com/pluginlist.php)

Yes, they are synchronized with the music actually. :) You can turn that off and have them blink in intervals, though. (I posted as A.C. before, and just created an account.)
