I agree about the fat (pretty much the whole of book 2), but I still loved the books and thought it a wonderful series. The characters were rich and very well developed, the story filled with questions and great twists (that all get answered), and there were certain sections of pure brilliance. But yeah, it could be cut down to half the length and still do quite well, I think.
As for the game, I guess it's nice, but I've been praying (to FSM) for them to come out with a movie since I first read it. I guess that won't be happening any time soon.
The other day, when I got in the shower, I saw an ant trying to carry his dead comrade... err... somewhere. He was getting there via walking in circles. In fact, his path was so precise, that when I got out of the shower 40 minutes later, he was still carrying his buddy around in circles.
Then my dog stepped on him.
That's one hell of a tracking system!
And here's mine:
Pours a pale orange/gold with an unsurprisingly tiny head that quickly dissappears. Aroma is very much of wine and honey. Taste is similar, with malt up front and a sweet finish. A nice drink but it really doesn't do it as a "beer" for me; tastes more like a sweet white wine. 3.6/5.0
But I agree, the gaming industry is overwhelmingly weak right now. AFAIConcerned, nothing worth the $200+ console price tag has come out in a long, long time. I still sit around playing old RPGs 99% of the time (and 1% downloading new PC games that I never end up playing for more than an hour cause they suck), waiting for the next Final Fantasy to come out. Even looking at reviews of games for the past TWO YEARS I find little that actually interests me. Whatever happened to the good ol' RPGs? All that comes out anymore are craptastic action-RPGs that offer barely a hint of the complexity of the older, classic titles.

As for international sports, you missed rugby, which is without a doubt one of the most exciting sports out there. Talk about non-stop action...
And how about Basketball? Not enough action for you? A couple points every 30 seconds seems pretty good to me.
Soul calibur rules!
