Moderators,
This guy know what he is talking about.
If everyone was publishing SPF-records and enforcing them, the problem would go away. The real problem is that most mailadministrators doesnt have a clue.
The same thing happened to the weavers in Coventry, UK in the 18th Century. As it was obvious that their technology was obsolete, and everyone had to loose from supporting them, no one did.
I find it strange that people were smarter then than they are today.
They said they wanted an open format, and they thought that that was what ISO provided. If that no longer is the case, then they will ask for an open format. There is no winner here, just losers, especially Microsoft that has shown more openly than ever that they don't care about their customers.
I think it has a lot to do with USA. It is a company from USA, that the USA government has failed to control, that has ruined an international standards organisation in order to maintain their current customer data lockin.
You know that is the truth since they have to push it through by force, instead of accepting the fact that there already exist a standard, that they refuse to support.
As far as I am concerned, all they have accomplished is to shame them self. The fact that they get an ISO-stamp, does not mean that OOXML is an open standard, and it is my belief that it never will be.
"I'm thinking that the real solution is making people in the public more aware of the dangers of driving with too little sleep. Everyone knows they shouldn't drink and drive (yet many still do) but not enough people realize how dangerous driving when tired is."
Yes, you are right of course. When I drive across Europe, I always make sure that I sleep enough, But, you know how many there are that klick on every link in the mail when they really should know better. You have to look at it at a anti-virus program, it protect us from those that does not know better.
You customise absolutely everything yourself in Debain too, but when you have more than 50 servers running, thats not what you want. In that situation you want something dependable, stable that let you do other things. In Debian you don't ever have to reinstall, you just upgrade.
I started out with Slackware, if I remember right, but since I started using Debian in 1995, I have not seen a better server, and during that time I have used quite a few. No one has served me better than Debian.
You obviously doesn't have a clue about Debian. Debian has been a fine server since 1995, and I still choose it before RHEL anyday. I have always found it strange that everyone went for RedHat, when they could have Debian.
Mark S. saw the advantages of Debian and based Ubuntu on it, Ubuntu is a server and a desktop distro, based on Debian. It has made more people realize the strength of the Debian approach.
You are repeating what I was saying. You need people to use it. And no, you cant deny a message because it doesnt have an SPF-record, but yes, you can deny mail reliable by using our SPF-record. The overhead i minimal, compared to other tests, and it work well for us, and other that use it, but as long as there are so few using it, the impact is limited.
So, those who does not use it, should use it.
SPF is very useful, if everyone use it. That way it will be difficult to send mail from other domains than your own, which make it easier to block spammers.
So if you dont use it, you are part of the problem.
No, it is not, the page you are linking to is, tough.

You could install vlc.

It could also bee that smarter people, like me, prefer wine instead of beer.
Obviously they think they are making more money this way. I for one is happily running Firefox with Noscript. That makes me feel safe.

Actually, they are talking about wiretapping and then interpreting what one is trying to say or are saying.
The principal point should be whether the stars says that you two are made for each other, of course.
I wonder if taking down the website will stop the emails from coming?
Nope, I dont think so.
After a couple of beers, I speak any language.
I am running Wireless on my thinkpad with ubuntu. I dont waste a lot of time with making software run.
I have a wife too. Do you believe that?
The trick is to stay away from Microsoft if you don't want trouble with the law, with licences or with vendor lockin.

No, in this context it is a normal reaction.
totally with IBM
I think so, I couldn't see the photo. Only the pricelist. ;)
You can compare Windows Vista with Windows XP but you can't compare them with a Linux distribution. They are apples and pears.
Stupid study made just to sell Vista
Yes, I guess you are right, but for me, I remember that they are liars and I have a place where to point those that are in doubt.
