Well, it says that we live in a nation of freedom. Freedom for me to be a Buddhist, freedom to say you live in the Dark Ages, freedom to NOT watch porn if I so choose, and freedom for all to do the same or different.
Your 10 Commandants are nice and all but why must they be in a courthouse lawn? Why must Nativity scenes be in the same location? Seems to me, since the 90's, Christians got scared as people turned from Christianity for Wicca, Buddhism, atheism, etc and sought freedom to live their lives. If you want your rules posted somewhere, put it in your house. Just remember that we have freedoms and any diviation from that results in an American version of the Taliban which would mean fundie Christians are no diffeent than fundie Muslims.
The way it is worded it is ment to mean seperation of the state from the church (ie no state religion) but does not require removal of religion from state things (like prayer in public schools). A State school should have areas set aside for religious rites but should allow baptist , wiccan and satanist rites as required (all three parties clean up afterwards)
People can pray in schools. They can't be forced to pray in school. There is a difference. If a fundie girl wants to pray to Jesus to pass her sinful sex ed test, so be it. However, she can't have the entire class do it. Allowing different religions to have their rituals in schools would slow things down. Let's focus on education and let religion be where it should be: home, church, heart.
The drinking age seems to me to be wrongly placed, but I'm willing to listen to any attempts to justify it.
The human brain doesn't stop it's main development till the age of 20 or 21 in general. The idea is to let people's brain develop normlaly then let them drink. A healthy citizen is a good, voting citizen.
I think Clinton is the best but lying about inhaling was lame. Bush admited he has a substance abuse problem. I'd still like to know how an alcohlic and cocaine abuser got to be pres.
Chuck Norris is not a redneck nor are all Texans are red state inhabitants. Just enough to make the rest of them look bad. Want to see a hardcore redneck, visit MI's UP,
I get the huffiest reactions when I disagree with Democrats. Oh, my great fluffy, bouncing baby Jehovah, go to a Democrat dominated town hall type discussion and suggest any sort of private sector solution to anything and they're ready to drag out the stake, gasoline and matches.
That is why politicial parties don't work.
Oh, don't single out one group. It's pointless. Everyone claims victimhood. The Christians claimed it this last Christmas, but so did the athieists who were somehow oppressed by someone putting a fucking nativity scene in a park. All sides are guilty.
Groups now like to be victims. It's a trend that will last for awhile. Americans are too sensitive to things. We censor our TV and radio, we get upset over ideas, we get upset over religion, and, worst of all, the media makes millions off of it. Time for Americans to grow up and accept that not all people are alike and can never be alike. If you get offended by something, don't deal with it again. I'm offended by Dell offshring jobs so I don't buy Dell. Problem solved. As for religion, to each their own and none any anyone's damn business.

If playing games is the major concern of the use of an OS, it'd be better if people bought consoles and left the PC alone.
But Republicians and Evangical Christians are being persecuted. People disagree with them. It's evil!
Americans are too stupid to see how good we have it. We have concerns about the welfare of our nation but still, we have it better than China, Russia, Sudan, and Iraq. Americans aren't pussies just ignorant.
I blame the Evangicals for crying persecution whenever someone disagrees with them or tells them they can't force their religion onto others. Grow up and live at church.
As though conservatives bashing liberals for having a different political philosophy is any different. Sorry that he insulted your savior but people have to grow up. Bad enough our politicians act like children, we don't need the entire nation to do so either.
Too true. With "moral values" (too generic) winning the vote, we may wind up with broadcasting that is even more dumbed down. Imagine 700 Club being considered "racy" by new FCC chairman's standards.
As a small business owner that tries not to enter debt or have a system that can barely be controled by one person, I do rely on Gmail. It's reliable (for now) and is free (for now). It makes sense for me to use it. If my biz grows to have employees, it will change. For one person operations were proper financial responsiblity is used, it's great.
But the long term consequences is a fundamentalist Christian theocracy. In his speech, he said God will help our economy and make us richer. I believe in God but he has a universe tor run, people.
Until we elect a non-Republician or Libertain, we'd be better off. Afterall, being pro-business is one thing but being pro-corporation and anti-competitive is another.
Considering we buy more stuff from China and American companies are sending production jobs to Mexico or China then sent here, I don't see how this can help anyone other than CxOs and politicians who accept bribes.
If Bush's economic plans didn't wreck the $'s value, this kind of thing may not be happening. As the only superpower, why is American $ lower than the Euro and soon to be lower than the Yen? This sucks and another reason I won't buy from HP.
Maybe we can have Goatse apply for a job in marketing there....
Didn't the DMCA state that customers don't own the media digital content is stored? I remember reading that awhile ago and too tired to care now but if true, why do we spend money on things we don't own? I know I don't own the rights to X film or software but I do own the CD/DVD. At least till Bush got into office.
This has been going longer than Bush has been in office. Heck, I remember a time I wanted to return some app but I couldn't since it was copyrighted and it's ilegal to give a refund for copyrighted material. So I blew $30 for an app that couldn't run on my PC without crashing it. MS has a gold mine with EULAs and the anti-refun for copyrighted material law.

I'm almost sold. If Linux can get hot chicks like BSD does, we'd never need marketing...just tight T-shirts.
I agree. Next election, vote Democrat and let's get this nation straight.
You're new here, ain't you?
I know military people smarter than certain Slashdotters and Bush voters.

So it's running Windows? At any rate, these machines would be useful. More troops get to come home and Bush gets to waste money. Everyone wins.
I'm assuming you're in a red state. The same states that banned same-sex marriage for being immoral yet allows cousins to marry?
It's OK. Republicians can't be in office forever.
That is why politicial parties don't work.

Why pay when Gmail is free? I have 4 invites so email me and I'll give them out.
