If a noob bought a laptop and it ran like ass, how would they have the qualifications to know what is required for vista? I have used a core 2 duo laptop with 512 megs with vista basic and it really did take 10 mins to boot, and IE was such a pig to load as well. It is CRIMINAL that such low specced systems were sold with vista on them so that extra hardware purchases are REQUIRED just to make use of what you bought.

This whole Violent video games causes *problem of the day* is getting old real fast. When I was growing up, I watched ALL of the politically incorrect cartoons like Popeye, Tom and Jerry, Woody Woodpecker (he said 'wood' heh heh heh) and of course all of the Looney Tunes. All of these had so called "violence" and from an early age, I was taught by strange persons called "parents" that it was not real and NEVER wanted to act out what I saw. Fast forward a decade, and I played DOOM when it came out in '93 and even then I viewed it like a cartoon- it can relieve stress without hurting anyone. A few generations back Rock n' Roll was teh EvIl satan and so on.

Ummm NO. Lower resistance(ohms)=more current at a given DC voltage. Since we are talking about an AC audio signal, we are actually talking about impedance here. So the higher the impedence of the speaker, the more sensitive it is to voltage. That is why the high end phones are 32 Ohm impedence.

Is when ISPs keep sigining pink contracts. We can filter untill we are blue in the face, but as long as spammers still have unfettered access to 'bullet-proof' hosting we will never win this war. What we need is for ISPs to actually ENFORCE thier AUP/TOS and the problem is solved. Of course the big problem is GREED and MONEY, and ISPs love to rake in spammer money without ANY reguard to consequences to the rest of the net community.

  8. Netcraft Confirms: IE is losing market share... on Firefox Continues Gains against IE · · Score: 1, Funny

It is official; Netcraft confirms: IE is losing market share One more crippling bombshell hit the already beleaguered IE community when IDC confirmed that IE market share has dropped yet again, now down to less than a fraction of 1 percent of all servers. Coming on the heels of a recent Netcraft survey which plainly states that IE has lost more market share, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. IE is collapsing in complete disarray, as fittingly exemplified by failing dead last [samag.com] in the recent Sys Admin comprehensive networking test. You don't need to be a Kreskin [amdest.com] to predict IE's future. The hand writing is on the wall: IE faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for IE because IE is losing market share. Things are looking very bad for IE. As many of us are already aware, IE continues to lose market share. Red ink flows like a river of blood. Let's keep to the facts and look at the numbers. All major surveys show that IE has steadily declined in market share. IE is very sick and its long term survival prospects are very dim. If IE is to survive at all it will be among DVR dilettante dabblers. IE continues to decay. Nothing short of a miracle could save it at this point in time. For all practical purposes, IE is dead. Fact: IE is losing market share

Patches were released but the untimely passing of Rich Harvey ended any hope of the franchise growing. What is the rush to release early?
