    It doesn't work very well using the "real" client either. Well maybe its just my 3 firewall setup (border router/wireless router/[iptables xp firewall]) on the client. I have no problems with IRC file transfers though.

    I agree. Living in California I don't even have to leave the state to experience an entire range of climates. We have amusement parks here. We have got it all. Lots of high tech industry corps are head quartered here. Life is good being a Californian. Go bush! Go Arnold! Go USA!!!

    Yes but you do that and the FCC will shut you down real quick. Being licensed means regulation and monitoring. You really don't know what your talking about do you? You just think you do. Go back to reading /. and pretending to know what your talking about but don't post ok? Thanks.

    Yeah that works for small single user systems. Try blacklisting an entire ISP at any decent sized orgainization that needs to provide services to the world at large. I have a feeling you don't really admin systems and are just trying to impress us. Go back to reading slashdot and pretending to work in IT.

    No but a lot of times they use a single e-mail address. Especially the people that usually post to usenet. They use the same e-mail address for several years. I know I have used mine on a large number of posts to Usenet /. blogs etc etc. And its on my resume. So is my website which has links to my blog. Also my full name (first and last) is fairly unique.

    If longevity is the #1 issue for your appt hen your best bet in the long run is Linux simply because the kernel source code is available to you and can be customized to work exactly and naively for your application. No. If longevity is important then Viagra is what you need. No need to worry about source code or customization. It just works. Newer models last longer ;)

Consider yourself shot down and corrected. You totally misread the post and are out of line. weierstrass made a valid point and corrected you. You decided to take it wrong. Way wrong.     Do you need to look for alternate hosting? I am also about to release a morphix based live cd of my project. I plan to use SF to host it. Morphix uses SF for hosting of ISOS. I don't know why you can't. Here is my setup: I use my own host for my project website (http://www.thewybles.com/~charles/oser) and SF for bugs/e-mail/source control etc. I use my own host so I can have raw level access to the server logs which SF doesn't give you. But everything else uses SF. They have taken all the hard work out of project management.

    No they get patents to stifle innovation. Just because you have patents doesn't mean other people can't/won't use them against you. And as for who modded the parent funny I agree with the mod. I laughed when I read the post. That makes it funny ;)

    True. Gradual corruption is worse but more difficult to do. With source control/revision tracking its almost impossible. And to date as far as I know there aren't any viruses that do this. I imagine if they do exist they are highly targeted payloads that attack specific companies. If the problem was widespread many organizations would report problems and an effort would be made to prevent infection. Although it would most likely be hard.
