Sir, do you have that project I asked for?
Not quite....
What are you doing......
Nothing...
Are you watching TV?
This is what's going to happen in office everywhere!
//sarcasm// Next time someone wants to deface your car, they can use this stuff and they won't get in as much trouble because "You can peel it off loser, now hand me that project you did for me or I'm gonna beat the snot out of you!"//sarcasm over/// Seriously, removable paint is kind of cool because if you don't like it, you can remove it, but it's probably too expensive to be worth removing it.
It seems innocent the way it's being presented now. Yeah, this does run the risk of making it easier for terrorists to forge the ID because there's only one kind instead fo many, but I could see how it can be convienent. The only problem is that if this is suscessful, who's to say they aren't beyond a National ID for everyone, like some people were reading into it?
I remember reading somewhere that the reason boys and girls differ in their computer expertise (on average) is due to the following:
Boy jumps onto the computer, plays with it till he breaks some part of it, and is forced to figure out how to fix it.
Girl, terrified of breaking the computer, demands to be shown what to do before using it.
The real way it works:
Boy plays on computer, visits sites with enough spyware and viruses to eventually crash the old computer.
Older sister gets to spend 6 hours messing with MSconfig settings, calling tech support hotlines, and generally fixing the computer so the boy can eventually break it again.
Ok, so they decided that (for now, at least) they won't control what we hear on satellite
radio, but that doesn't mean they haven't already stepped out of line a long time ago. First,
have you ever noticed that no one that has come under fire by the FCC is Republican?
Like that's a coincidence. Also, how can they decide what is and isn't "obscene"? Many of
the things they define as such would be defined as "unimportant" by the average American
(think the "Desperate Housewives" towel drop). With parental control systems such as the
V-Chip, is censorship even necessary anymore? Think about it, are any of the "obscene"
images or words going to hurt any adults? Not that I think it even hurts children, but if the
parents are really worried, they can spend the 2 minutes to read the TV owners manual
and activate the V-Chip. Plus, aren't most of the "offensive" things only offensive to
Christians? Making laws based on this should be against the freedom of religion part of the
1st amendment. I think the FCC should only exist to control things like making sure radio
stations don't overlap each other and that our cell phones aren't giving us cancer or
something, and that it should be stripped of its ability to censor free speech.
