You're stereotyping. Some people are able to combine science and religion without cognitive dissonance. I for one have a PhD in Electrical Engineering and I am a devout Christian. As long as I know where the electrons in the circuit I'm designing are going, does it really matter whether God put them there or whether they were created in some "Big Bang"? The best way to approach climate change is to just ask yourself: "What Would Jesus Do?" and you'll see the solution is simple.
Absurd? Wait until they post a Slashdot review of Packt Publishing's "Programming for Raspberry Pi" (available for pre-order now for only $19.95 or 2.375 bitcoins).
As opposed to spreading their garbage out, which results in rainbows and unicorns? The problem is garbage, not people. You Americans have to realize that there's more to life than consuming stuff and creating landfills. Go take a walk outside.
And how many thousands of mouths did Mr Rybolovlev feed, for how many years, while creating his wealth? You tree-hugging liberal hippies keep forgetting that most of the revenues coming into a business go to employees salaries; entrepreneurs like Mr Rybolovlev get to keep only a small percentage of what's left after costs are paid. If they later decide to spend that money on overpriced real estate in New York, you should thank them for boosting the local economy instead of keeping the money under their mattress.
Corporate profits always come first. Coal fires are a problem in some areas and at least one town had to be abandoned since the fires can last for decades and possibly centuries.
Citation needed. The fire that eventually resulted in the abandonment of Centralia, PA, was started when a fire at the local garbage dump ignited a natural coal seam that lay near the surface. Evil mining companies had nothing to do with the fire. Don't blame job-creating business owners and corporations for natural disasters... blame your choice of either Mother Nature or God.
I'd recommend any book from Packt. They are by far the best source of books on programming, as evidenced by the many glowing reviews posted on Slashdot.
Funny how that herbicide didn't kill plants the first two times it passed through the soil into the plants which were then digested by cows, it only started killing plants when it got to the hobbyist farmers. It's obvious the local hobbyist farmers were doing something wrong... since they were tofu-eating tree-hugging hobby-farmers they probably forgot something obvious like watering the crops when it wasn't raining. Damned hippies.
$10 is a couple of hits of crack. So the choice comes down to: pay Comcast $10 for internet for children's education or hit the pipe a couple more times. Most poor people have already demonstrated which choice they'd make.
Why do we call someone a hero for being unfortunate to be killed whilst going innocently about their life.
"Whilst"... you've given yourself away, limey. Real Americans know the difference between heroes and victims. President Bush and Fox News called them heroes, so heroes they are.
How many dozens of 9/11's happen each year as a result of smoking and alcohol?
I challenge you to provide one example of an airplane being piloted into a building because of smoking and alcohol. Stop whining about helping real people, and join the fight the help the real heroes... the ones who died in 9/11.
Think about the poor Muslims! They're being forced to buy a device to test for a substance that Allah forbids them to use. SOunds like grounds for a court challenge.
It's a single use device. He's assuming that he'll be using it for each of the 300 days a year that goes to a bar... that's about normal for your typical poet.

Adam Smith is rolling over in his grave.

No, that's not how it works. The lawyers get $3.92, and CSIRO gets a coupon for $0.08 discount on their next purchase of U.S. products.
Yeah! I agree. Show more videos with booth babes!
Not true. My dog prefers pork chops to pig ears.
What is going to be the alternative for people like me who like the WIMP model in a desktop OS?
Work really hard so you can retire before Windows 7 goes EOL.
Some just like spending time with children.

Celine Dion. It would be a win-win situation.
Give it time.
Is that you, John Yoo?
Then as a limey, your sense of humour should be dry enough to appreciate the trolling that's been done here.

And drop that peanut butter sandwich right now.
Best way to deal with them is to say "Get off my lawn" and then they'll go inside and learn how to program. That's how it was done when I was a kid.

"... which Jobs suspended in 1995 ..."
Uhuh. Right ... when he was at Next ... That's not even in the linked articles. You made that up.
Jobs was always the CEO at Apple, ever since he founded it in a log cabin. We've always been at war with Eastasia.
