Can you put Afterstep back into the distro? I have no problem downloading it, but when you try to convince other people to try it, they want to have the RPM on the CD. Besides, I think Afterstep is wonderful. Or do you envision the desktop going to only KDE and Gnome?
Whenever I have to move my computer, I just use a laundry basket. One with solid handles and the plastic that doesn't build up static. I hold any kind of keyboard, any kind of mice, has plenty of room, and it's cheap.
Take all the primes from 1..n (in your finite list) and multiply them. Add 1 to this. This number has to have factors since according to you, it's not prime. What are the factors of this number? Can't be any primes, because of the one we added. Therefore, this number must be prime. So we have a list of 1..n+1 primes. Multiply them together and add 1....
I've upgraded my linux box to IPv6, but I notice there are some strange results. If I do a "ping::1" it works fine, however, if I try to ping my IPv6 address, it doesn't work unless I bind the ping to my network device. A few other applications worked that way too. Hopefully IPv6 will be in the latest Redhat without having to recompile the kernel soon.
26 new bands put out a CD this week, all supported by the RIAA. The bands, A, B, C, D,.. Z all are eager to hit the music scene and have had napster ban their MP3's matching their names.
Really though, what about a band like "Hole"? I can't trade any song that has "Hole" in the title? Or the one name artists, like Monica and Brandy.
In ways you can't measure. People accept that a computer will crash once a day, that you have to pay $100 for an OS, that you can't get any other OS from OEM (when MS was requiring fees for all computers, even without Windows), that you have to exchange documents in a format that can only be read by one product, that you can't do certain things with other OS (such as using an Exchange server), that standards have to be bent to accomodate Windows users, etc...
I know I never keep track of rebates, but the last two I've done they've been sent out incorrectly. The first one was sent to my address, excluding the suite number. They also abbreviated my first name. So the mailroom had to decide where to put the check. It went to my twin brother and he gave it to me, but in a huge apartment, someone could have the same first initial and last name and might get your rebate check. The second one was delivered to the wrong house by the postal service. Maybe it's me, but I don't think it should take 8 weeks to process a rebate.
They have the source code on the web page. Look in the defines.h file starting on line 33. Just change them there. If you know C, then you can do some tweaking and have the servers come from the command line.

As a community, slashdot demands that everyone use different operating systems for different situations, depending on your needs.
Surely you jest. A story on handheld, "When are we going to have Linux PDA's?". A story on Dreamcast, "BSD is ported to the dreamcast, when will we have Linux for the dreamcast?" Everything should run Linux, with just different kernel options.
Took a shower this morning, looked on the bottle and it said:
0. Hair takes water
1. Hand takes the shampoo
2. Hair takes the shampoo
3. Hand works shampoo into lather
4. Hair takes water which removes instance of lather
5. this->repeat()
A lot of OOP programming I see is like procedural except the first parameter is the object. Like foo(bar, crud) becomes bar.foo(crud)
A search on ebay reveals that RCA cable modems are all going for over a hundred. Sure, some of them have no bids right now, but who knows. You could also try other auctions sites if Ebay is flooded with them. Spend a hundred on electronics and get a modem that you sell for a hundred. Math looks good to me:)
Read it again. I think what it's saying is that some credit card companies make you liable for the first x dollars of credit card fraud. Egghead.com will pay for that if it's their fault. So if you're liable for the first $100, you'll only have to pay $50. If you're liable for $50, then you won't have to pay anything.
A spammer can send an HTML e-mail with a <IMG SRC="http://342349234/cgi-bin/logo.pl?email=you@yo urisp.com"> in it and then they have the script log who read the e-mail. That's why I usually use pine for e-mail.
Sure, you'll be without adds, but then half the websites out there won't work anymore because some people rely too much on Javascript. When a simple A HREF will do, they have onClick() to do a simple hyperlink. Or they'll see if you have javascript running and refuse to run the page if you don't because you won't see their interactive ad in the corner.
Isn't this the same thing that "The Pentagon Wars" movie was based on? Hopefully this won't give it a sequel. I can see it now. "We want it to run KDE and GNOME, also, can you serve up web pages? Also, we need Q3A to run on it."
About 2 years ago I went to Best Buy to get a PDA. Looked around and made my decision. Stood at the counter for about 10 minutes so I could buy it, then an older couple comes up and started looking at some cameras. The salesperson comes up to help them immdediately (I was 19 at the time). I left and bought it somewhere else.
A few weeks ago my brother goes down to Best Buy to buy a Palm. People in front of him at the counter. The salesperson is telling them about the different models, blah blah blah. The salesperson lets them play with all of them. They leave. My brother steps up and starts looking at them. The salesperson actually pulls them out of his hands as he's looking at them. He asks a question, "What's the difference between these two models?" "Memory."
That's why I absolutely hate Best Buy. Next time I go I think I'm just going to waste the salesperson's time to get revenge....
So if you were to get pulled over for doing 66 in a 65 zone, you wouldn't even be somewhat angry? Would you go to court and contest it because you knew you could get out of it?
Or what about those strange laws that were enacted a long time ago that make no sense (e.g. In Missouri, it is illegal to eat popcorn on Sunday (an example, may not be true, but laws like those)). They are the law, so you should respect them 100%?
Think about segregation. People who were for it could say, "Well, it doesn't hurt them any. They still have a water fountain, they can still ride the bus, and still go to school, so what's the problem?"
The problem was it was just plain wrong. You even say in the letter the Constitution protects Fair Use. It may be difficult to come up with a specific example (I'm sure other posters can).
Maybe with control of the DVD market, the MPAA can create a monopoly with licensing fees so that certain films cannot be put on DVD. They could also raise the price to their liking, without regard to competition.
In addition to learning about dialog boxes, If statements, and for loops, people taking courses in VB will now get to learn how to have Hello World signed by Microsoft.
Think about it. Microsoft can't deny any program from being denied, no matter how small it is. The courts would have a field day with it. "What? You refused to allow this program to properly run? And you say you program is the start of an Office competitor, that right now just says 'Hello World'?"
If you do decide to get a digital phone, make sure they give you an adapter or a second phone that analog so you will have nation wide coverage. In some parts of the country they don't have digital service.

I'm sure including these was to provide a backdoor in case the product got into the hands of the enemies.

"Does he still have rsh running and wu-ftpd?"

So I'm assuming this is probably a small office building of some sort. That's better than if it was just an apartment, but I'm still not sure.
