  1. "Pay" for TV? What, like cable or a satellite connection? (rofl) Okay. Gave up on that years ago. There's too much available for us without paying for "TV". Sheesh.

  2. Re:Your Momsors??? on Some Trump Donors Get Fleeced By 3rd-Party Payment System · · Score: 1

Hmm. I didn't realize how much I wished Slashdot had an IQ requirement.

He put an existing clock into a different case.

I need to be on the FBI's watchlist. I can (gasp) assemble a computer from parts. I can also (don't tell anyone!) install the OS, and use it. I better now share any other skillz I has. :-P

  4. Commentators Are Worthless And Annoying on What's Wrong With American Ninja Warrior? · · Score: 1

I say that on top of what is already mentioned in the original article, the COMMENTATORS on Amerincan NW are a huge part of the problem. Especially the former Olympian (I think that's his claim to fame, by recall). They (and he especially) are ANNOYING. It's likely half the WRITING itself, but when they are talking as if they are doing it LIVE (which they obviously are not) and say things "as they are happening" to make it seem like they're completely on top of what's going down -- it's annoying as hell.

People jump onto the rope hang obstacle, and people landing above or below the "same area" are scolded for being below or above an ideal point (in other words, they are wildly inconsistent in their commentary). They are VERY uninteresting to listen to generally speaking.

The Japanese's way of making it FUN and as the original article points out "men against the course" is much more enjoyable.

Another fine Japanese show Americanized and ruined (just like Iron Chef.. heck, just like Godzilla for that matter, thanks Matt Broderick).

  5. Hoopla Over One Second on Leap Second Bug Causes Crashes · · Score: 1

This is so silly. One second. How many ways, for those who CLAIM they needed to account for this second, could problems have been avoided? Hmm. Heaven forbid they simply IGNORE the extra second (all except those oh-so-crucial banking connections who SUPPOSEDLY need to be perfectly in sync) and let the system either adjust it's time however it normally would, or perhaps write a script to pause services for 5-15 seconds while the time is adjusted, or get fancy and write something that slowly took away nanoseconds so that over the course of a minute, hour, day, etc, the second was accounted for.

This is just beyond silly. At least Y2K had logical concerns that people had to deal with (even though THOSE were blown completely out of proportion as well).

  6. Lost Posts on How Would Driver-less Cars Change Motoring? · · Score: 1

(sigh) I love drafting a nice post, then clicking OPTIONS below that post, and then LOSING the post I just spent time writing. Really nice. (/sigh)

  8. Diabetics on Scientists Implant Biofuel Cells Into Rats · · Score: 5, Interesting

Anyone consider the possibility of a device that not only produces energy from the body, but also uses up glucose? A device that conceivably could both help eat up Glucose and POWER a MONITOR to help see how the diabetic is doing??

I happen to be a highly insulin-resistant Type 2, and this was the first thing I thought of when I read this.
