  1. Re:Summary not quite accurate... on Adobe To Patch Flash 0-Day Friday · · Score: 1

Even if they don't release the patch for Google Chrome, Google Chrome users are still fully protected.

All of these exploits in Adobe products is why everyone is coming out with their own PDF viewers or sandboxing the hell out of Adobe Flash.

Google Chrome has it right, wrap Adobe Flash in the same nearly impenetrable sandbox that the browser itself is wrapped in. The Google Chrome sandbox has proven time and time again that no matter what exploit is found in the browser, the sandbox has rendered them completely useless to do anything really bad to the surrounding operating system. Oh hell no! I love Deep Space Nine! It was the only series of Star Trek in which the characters felt as if they were real characters and once you could relate to.

Yes, it was a complicated series but if you watch the series from start to finish with no break in between, the series plot line makes sense.

And I don't know about you, but DS9 seems more real in the sense that it's more human. The characters deal with real issues, issues that we humans today deal with on a daily basis. Bigotry, racism, terrorism, war, etc. Seriously, I don't think humanity will ever be able to get over these issues but maybe that's my cynical nature coming through.

Wheneven you connect to the Internet via your ISP and they give you an IP address, they record the time you connected and your account username (or cable modem's MAC address which can be traced back to your billing account). All, all someone needs is your IP address and the time the offense took place (has to be a specific time frame) and all the ISP needs to do is look in their database of addresses they gave out and they have you.

Yeah, you could have an open WiFi router but usually the company attempting to sue you (*cough* RIAA, MPAA *cough*) doesn't care. They want their own twisted version of justice and they want money now. They don't care if you have an open WiFi router and that the neighbor may have downloaded music on your network, they see that your account was responsible for the act and they want money!

Let's be honest with ourselves, Apple chose AT&T which is really as far as the community is concerned, the worst wireless carrier in the history of wireless carriers. The iPhone would be a smash hit if every carrier had it, this includes T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint.

Also, you talk about your App Store being so great and available. What if I want an app that you denied? Oh yeah, I can't. With Android, I would be able to simply go to another marketplace to get it. Simple.

Why does DRM exist? Simple. Because people are dishonest bastards and will rob you blind the first chance they get.

Produce a song? Yep, someone will come along download it and give it to all of his (or her) "friends". Meanwhile, did you get paid for all of your blood, sweat, and tears? Did you get paid for producing that song? Nope. That's why DRM exists, because people are dishonest.

Now, if all people were honest and paid for the things they like (and those said items were sold at a fair price) then we would not need DRM, but since people aren't... we have this shit.
