If they've gone to the difficulty of hacking a device in your own that plays music and has a microphone, why not just hack their devices and use the camera. As an added bonus it works when the user isn't playing music.
I dunno, it will be a lot harder for people to casually find or actively use. We aren't exactly talking about the most sophisticated users of technology.
I personally don't understand the appeal of a drive-in, maybe its because I'm slightly tall @ 6'1" but cars aren't relaxing to sit in and the windshield doesn't provide great vertical visibility. That said, the same is true for the theatre, no leg room and rarely can you get one of the good seats in the middle of the theatre.
Except that these algorithms are trained for something very specific. This is why we also have stories where placing minor stickers on road signs renders confuses self-driving cars.
Describing what Google, Facebook, etc. are doing as AI is incorrect and greatly misleads the general population into thinking the techniques applied are far more sophisticated than they really are.
Any time this has come up, including last week on Slashdot but even in the chat rooms for Paul's shows (he's funny even for a non-MS fanboy) that other OEMs didn't seem to experience any issues. I always thought it was poor reporting that no one was questioning Microsoft's line given a half dozen other OEMs had no problems.
There are issues with boards - something I hadn't realized prior to listening to Planet Money #594 new board members must be approved for voting by the existing board. So if you're in control of a board you can ensure perpetual control.
No one is talking about reversing it. Taking the photos down and punishing the culprit is enough.
No one is saying that they shouldn't try to take it down or punish people. The reason little can be done is because the site is Russian and registered privately.
Nice straw man - I don't think the AC"s point is that they "deserve" it, rather that its largely avoidable. When I cross the road, regardless of whether I have the right of way I'm watching traffic because I'd rather be whole than exercise my right.
No, context recognition would mean the correct word but wrong meaning. Buy and My are clearly distinct words with different pronunciation.
While I can't say I use it anymore, my memory is Winamp 3 killed Winamp

An image probably built by some 22-year kid that he downloaded from some random site. What could go wrong?
Which is a step in the right direction, unfortunately it doesn't help when the vulnerability is in the driver :)
It is, but OEMs were able to block Windows 10 from devices if they didn't offer drivers.
Google has figured it out fine, their devices are mostly upgraded. Unfortunately OEMs and carriers refuse to bother.
No, you're confusing counterfeits with currency backing.
Sorry horizontally inclined, not fat...
I dunno about you, but I see fat people on the screen all the time. I never see someone cross-eyed or with injuries to their face.
16gb being standard on PCs is probably still a decade away.
Why is it only body-positive? Where are the people with weird eyebrows, cross-eyed, etc.

I always assumed they did it to track their users.

Because we're still no closer to actually creating an AI.
Who cares about Apple, Lenovo, HP, etc. seemed to have no issues. Certainly not PCs randomly waking up in bags etc.
So your anecdote can be summed up with - I didn't use it so I don't know

I've seen a number of MS fanboys/reports claim Skylake had issues, and yet no other OEM seems to have problems.
Actually the Zune as well as keyboards and mice were always great.
Supposedly the issue for the NFL are mostly due to issues with wireless in the stadiums /shrug
