Just thought i'd mention that I brought Google SMS to Ireland with my AFT service to send cheap text messages with o2, vodafone or meteor.
The only problem is that this ONLY works in Ireland, read
http://aft.donutsoft.net/ for more details. (It allows you to send free text messages with a java applet that runs on your phone).
Stop complaining, you live in the centre of Dublin, just go ahead and get ADSL, its only 30 euros a month. Have a look at some other countries who actually talk about how cheap Europe is for internet such as South Africa. In South Africa, with ADSL they cap their users at 3gb per month. If you want to download 100gb, its cheaper to fly to Hong Kong, and download it there, burn it to DVD's and bring it back home (Actual statistics, www.hellkom.co.za).
You complain about monopolies, but you honestly dont know how good you have it, I thoroughly enjoy my ADSL in Cork, if your ISP sucks so much, pick up the bloody phone and change ISP.
That has to be the stupidest thing I have heard all day, can you imagine how many other people would try and open up torrent sites just to get shut down and a bit of money for it? Even if the terms cant be discussed, you should know damn well news will spread
Just thought i'd mention, the 3 main irish ISP's (Esat BT, UTV Internet and Eircom) are also capping bittorrent traffic. The only way around it is to use BitComet. I'm severely pissed off at their move, but yet again there is no bloody alternative.
I could be wrong on this, but my guess is that EMI takes its total sales on a total tracks sold basis. So if you buy 1 album, you buy 14 tracks where as on iTunes you'd only buy 1 track, or 1/14th of an album.
I have an ngage, and I love it. Granted the games are shocking, but its the cheapest Symbian phone on the market, and a very good one at that. Cheapest colour bluetooth nokia too when I bought mine. Might be a failure for games, but its still a hell of a good and cheap symbian phone!
Ireland had this for a while, and a lot of people arent happy with the service, hopefully the aussies will do a better job. If your interested check out www.irishbroadband.ie, they also sell "ripwave" modems.
Use a HP Ipaq 4350
http://reviews.cnet.com/HP_iPaq_H4350/4505-3127_7- 30571424.html
It has your integrated keyboard, battery life is way above normal, integrated wifi, integrated bluetooth, uses USB.
Seems to be your solution, just be carefull as i accidently broke my HP IPaq 4150 screen a few months back, plan to get it fixed soon.
Well google doesnt have any chat systems yet, the only thing they are missing, so im guessing theyll buy out some small time chat system like SCX

mod me insightfull bitch:P
What will probably be the solution would be an emulator, which would be a damn fast emulator too considiring it only has to virtualise the CPU.
Hardware drivers wouldnt be an issue as the hardware is emulated, if they use their own bios then the bios can easily be reverse engineered and emulated, im sure the trusted computing thing wouldnt be hard either.
my 2c.
Because many people that work on these open source projects work for bigger companies like IBM/Google then even though it isnt much, its still a nice bit of pocket money ontop of your usual paycheck.

Its great that this technology exists, i had the same idea about 2 years ago and wanted to develop it but i never had enough C++ knowledge. Atleast now i can start my own TV station:)
In Ireland SMS is pretty cheap nowadays.
O2 gives me 200 free messages a month on their website, so i gotta use the internet to send the message.
Recieving messages is also free, and spam is kept to a minimum.

The guy thats trying dead hard not to laugh was actually an actor, they placed 3 actors in the group in order to influence the rest of them a bit in the right direction.
