I'm not the guy that figures up numbers for what it *should be able to do - I test. For moving streaming video I never get more than said ~8Mbps -- would gigabit ethernet help someone like me? I mean my bus must be too slow to push all that data over a 100Mbs connection already. Your statement about LPB CS bots applies just as well to humans - some people are just that good. The only way to detect a cheat proxy for certian is to see a fire frame unsynced from the player movement - this is caused by forcing the server to "spin" the player and fire in 1 frame and then return the player back to normal postion the next.

Proxy cheats are easy to defeat - and detect. And with voting mods you can ban that user from your game. If you see a guy fire a rail|nail gun from the back of his head, then he's using a client side cheat proxy aka cyborg OR "he" is a very poorly written CS bot driven by AI.

Proxy bots almost never hit a damn thing - they can't lead targets very well or compensate for lag/movement patterns very well either.

If you make asymeterical movement arcs in 3space (not just strafting over level ground) they won't hit you unless you really suck. I'm not saying if you're not torney level you shouldn't enjoy the game either. That's why you have mods that can vote to ban users *per level.

Your statements aren't founded - and you didn't mention "roller ball" CS cheats (the cs player is in a different bsp than the server and can cheat a lot more). Also I personally have been acused of being a bot on LMCTF ( q2 ) by modem players joining a LPB server (95% of clients always had = 100 ping).
