  1. Re:I'm willing to change on The State of Linux Gaming · · Score: 1

I have, however, seen Windows games that asked you to specify your hardware.

These games are typically the older ones programmed mainly for DOS or early windows environs. Autodetection was not really standard until after windows 98. I'm not really sure why this is. Perhaps directx made the cards easier to detect.

  3. talking on Wireless Power Recharging Nears Fruition · · Score: 1

Just thought of this. If this were standard on cellaular phones, it would be very difficult to talk on and charge your phone and the same time. You would probably have to keep your head very close to the mat. Even though there is no direct link between EMI and cancer, this is a practice I would be reluctant to perform often.
If you talk on the phone with your left ear and keep you right ear near the pad, if they phone would still charge the charge would be going through your head!

also the buttons were horrific. CMIIW but i don't think the N-gage had a button labeled as "start", you had to guess which one it was.

  8. design on N-Gage No Longer Relevant · · Score: 1

I believe it was the n-gage's design that killed it. Not bad for a handheld but terrible design for a phone. Also you had to take it apart to insert the game cartridge. I tried playing one at EB and it seemed like you actually had to RTFM to know how to get the game started. Not a problem for me but for the target audience this would be a pain.

  12. My question is on Hacker Penetrates T-Mobile Systems · · Score: 1

How could he access the pictures taken by users? Those are only stored on the device itself not t-mobiles servers. Unless they were sent to another device but this goes on all the time and I doubt t-mobile would waste storage space keeping every picture sent on their servers. Of course I am at work and behind firewall so I could not RTFA. maybe it went more into detail on this
