I definately think privacy is used as a sort of currency in today's technological world. People will pay in goods and services if you fill out a survey. I'm ok with that, as long as I know what I'm getting for my privacy. What I hate is when punks steal my privacy.
"let's make a virus that will expose ourselves to billions of dollars of liability"
But only if they get caught, and viruses can destroy the reputation of the file sharing software so they are causing much more trouble then "shut[ing] down some minor piracy for a day or two". If they are the ones doing it, that is...

This is what it's all about, do you really own things that you have bought? The consumers say yes, but some businesses (read: Microsoft among others) say no. The truth is that it doesn't matter what the businesses say because the consumers will find a way to get what they want, and that is why there are many many sites distributing DeCSS, sites that wouldn't have even thought words like warez and piracy. DeCSS can never be stopped and I hope that these lawyers don't get the courts to try.
There are probably a select few who never switched to something else when Napster went down, all six of them. A lot of people will try out Napster simply because it is Napster, and that alone could make BMG money. I predict that Kazaa will really be the new big filesharing app, and it's not based on a central server so it's unstopable.
In my personal opinion WindowMaker is the best wm, but it is still a clone. Check out this promising distro.
Wait.... I got it! A large scale virtual picketing of NY Times! What now, NY Times? No ad revenue for you, what now?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
*"Another One Bites the Dust" is playing softly in the background*
Does this mean I can run the MacOS on my x86?
So tell me why the government wants to see through my clothes?
But the question is: can you run Linux on it?
