But one thing your forgetting is that the homeowners of the future will be those kids the parents are asking for help with that dumb VCR. As a member of that people group (I'm 16) I can tell you the geek to jock ratio is looking better all the time.
The problem is that with a book you can take as much time to read it as you want, with a movie if you go over three hours or so there will be mass revolting in the theatres. Therefore a novel has to be chopped up to make a movies so they take out things which you may or may not consider important. All good movies are made from concepts obtained from short stories.
And not only that but if/when the sniper gets caught he can blame it all on CS/Quake/Unreal/Whatever in an attampt to save his skin (which to give credit to the american justice system will not save him) and give these games a bad rap.
Maybe people are wising up to the fact that you don't need the fastest processors on the market in order to open AOL...
That's right! You need the biggest monitor to display all those user friendly ads AOL likes to display when you log on, even after you pay a huge rate to get on in the first place!

That was my idea, they stole it! Except my premise was backwards: the networks are closed like the governments.
Nooooo! Not my linux flash plugin!
Wow, a UHF Reference on slashdot. I don't think that analogy will work too good.
Proudly keeping sex on top by typing it in over and over and over again.
That's nothing. I did cat "/dev/urandom > lynx slashdot.org" and got this comment.

Much like microsoft's tactic of giving away free comps with Windows on it to schools, so most kid's first computer experiance was windows.
If I buy CDs used is that evil?
I think Micro-Soft might be an insult in of itself. Think about it...
and it makes you a STOWAWAY, which is WORSE.
This is because Mac OS X is designed so well it all the shortcuts are just a way of life.
And I get very annoyed when I accidently eject in windows with a large transfer taking place from the cd drive.

That's right, Hoshi loses her shirt in this episode! About time if I say so myself.

How I hate you, AOL.
Since when does closed=bad? Look at the iPod!
So this is the protocol they used in Independence Day? And I've always wondered why the aliens were using TCP/IP.
But, do you really want a different computer for work and entertainment?
We have a Micro$oft Rep. in our midst! Kill him!
Hacking at 85 mph kind of redefines autoduel america doesn't it? Guns, cars and linux. What more could a man want?
Why?
Actually in the sound clip I got it sounds like Lee-Nooks
