It is the over generalization that hurts you. Look at Rule #4 VC are morons. But let's look at #6 as you say. You say "There are no rules" but then back that up with "Its fear and greed and desire and comfort and popularity" which is my point. You are not hyping and I didn't mean to imply that. It's when people write their experiences as fact instead of opinion, and then someone replies saying that is BS and gives their own opinion as fatct, that then become ridiculous. Of course the is only IMHO :-)

Ah the hypocrisy. It is wonderful. Do people know when they are doing it? You say the authors article is one of a possible million and then you turn around and spout your experience as if it is god. Anyway, don't really mean to be mean. Both of you have good advice.

You say it is almost never to complex to test? Most times it is. And it certainly always is when you must ship when the company wants to. Software, like many things are becoming gigantic and out of the ability for one person, or a group of people to fully understand. Example: modern jet liners are too big for one or several people to fully understand. And testing the Shuttles flight system - when? I mean originally it had like the power of an Apple II in a way. Bigger today but I bet in many ways less than airline flight systems. In the end, it is a fact that you cannot fully test any software. Time and risks have to be assesed. It will only become more challenging.

I don't think we are in disagreement. We are just stating it in different ways. I made no claim that because of X that Y MUST happen. Just that it is possible. Post hoc, ergo proctor hoc. Also, I acknowledge that it didn't effect him before I said it could effect others. So the logic you stated is right there in the sentence. In the end the point I wanted to get across is that you cannot say that something didn't influence some person enough.

What is funny and makes you 100% wrong is that, it wasn't you! To justify something because of your personal experience is valid only for you. Everything in life influences you to some degree. Wrong. It is an absolute fact that some people (kids) can be directly influenced by some media - books, movie, games. It can be immediate and very stupid.
