I could have sworn that one was a Family Guy quote. Then again, I may just be losing my ability to recall minutiae from sitcoms portraying fat, suburban dads and their dysfunctional families...
I think the original.MOD files from the Crusader are still available on various game music sites. VLC plays them quite nicely, and can transcode them to MP3 if you need it in that format.
For what it's worth, I think George Oldziey's work on the Crusader: No Remorse and Cruasader: No Regret is the pinnacle of (old school) video game music.
Tracks that really rock the house: PARTY from No Regret, and M04 from No Remorse.
As for newer stuff, I have found myself listening to the Halo soundtracks a lot recently.
Please understand that I have no issue with Monsanto making a profit... as long as they do so by creating and selling progressively better products.
Yes, the new drought-resistant, high-yield strains are wonderful things that allow the starving masses to feed 'themselfs'. But by throwing in a genetic time bomb and neutering the crops, Monsanto is in effect resting on its laurels and obviating the need for further innovation.
In fact, it's nothing more than genetic DRM. And in this case, the "DRM == bad" meme is fully and wholly applicable.

Hopefully their influence will be counterbalanced by some of the less evil groups participating in the project.
Ingredients: - Cheapo processor/mobo/case combo, $100. Make sure it's a low power, or you'll have a very noisy box. Ensure that the motherboard has onboard network and at least four SATAII connectors. - RAM: 512MB will do just fine, $20. - HDD's: 3x500GB, shouldn't run you more than $250 for the lot. I like Seagate drives, but you can get cheaper ones if you wish.
Instructions: Install your linux distro of choice on one drive and create a software RAID5 using the mdadm tool. Fast enough for network storage, and you end up with about 915GB of usable space.

If it's any consolation, it was released only three months before I was born.
Wow. Just wow.
I had to look up both Visicalc and Multiplan... apparently both were released before I was born.

I was about to say the same thing, but then I remembered that I already sold my soul for Grateful Dead tickets back in 1978,

Pretty funny. If ELER were updated more frequently, it would definitely be on my daily reading list.
I just did a bit of research, and yes, you are absolutely right. I'm renaming my MP3 collection right now!

I had no idea that there are people out there who still remember the Crusader games.
Amazing, that makes my day.

Looks like Plan 9 may make it to the real world after all... this kind of application is essentially what it was built for, right?
Two hundred whole picowatts?!!

I'm no expert on patent law, so be gentle.
