My very informed and experienced guess is that they undershot the battery life by quite a bit to get rid of battery issues/perception issues. this was done with the shuffle. think about it... sure they are using a smaller battery but flash takes so little compared to the hdd ipods

no i dont think it will. they want you to program the vbuttons to preform actions. Its not that right click functions are half assed... they aren't supported on purpose! Its part of the aqua interface. Apple does not believe in relying on right click contextual menus. And they try and enforce this idea with all of their software developers

I question the credibility of someone who posts on slashdot when compared to scientists. if any one for a second thinks that even everyday simplicity that we feel we have a complete grasp on is absolute truth in this crazy universe is rather foolhardy in my book. Our grasp on the universe is rather infantile

ummm are you completelytalking out of your butt? Small College town? It is part of a major metro area that consists of the 5th largest city in the US and that college happens to be the college with either the 1st or 2nd highest enrollment depending on how you slice it. I wouldnt classify it as a small college town... Grinnell, Iowa is a small college town. And what the heck are you talking about. Last call is at 2am (sure use to be at 1 but we finally moved past that) and bars stay open that long. No smoking in doors but there is out doors. Although i dont like that law in principle it makes all of our places nicer to be. And the reason medicinal mary-j isnt legal is because of threats from the federal government. but on top of this, what the heck does it have to do with ANYthing? I could point out a thousand lame things about all sorts of citys but that doesnt mean jack.

I agree completely. It seems to me that the original movies were a product of a great starting idea mixed with perfect timing. By timing I mean the technology and all resources that went into the originals, including pre-stardom lucas, forced it into its mold of greatness. Without computers the filmmakers are forced to be creative and make the actors and story carry a movie along.... I miss those days.

and you don't think 'ok this is a waste of time' when you do anything else in windows? I do like my scroll wheel on my logitech but on a mac i also rely on the keyboard. Keyboard being used in conjunction with a mouse is way more productive than just scrolling away or p[laying with contextual menus

there is a patent that apple applied for that described a mouse with a touch sensitive "scroll pad" of sorts. Would be interesting to see that

who uses the standard shitty mouse that comes with a PC? Then stop bitching and get the mouse you want with your mac! I dont see what the issue is. And for users who arent doing much beyond standard consumer use no second button is needed in OSX, contextual menus arent that important. If you are using Final Cut, or something else that utilizes then just get a mouse.
