You may have noticed that my email now tends to come from MIT instead of Apple.
I no longer work at Apple. I now work for a company called KnowNow. My last day at Apple was Friday 2/2.
You may also have noticed that I've since then helped Chuck import cscope, fixed a nasty in mod_perl, fixed up libtool some because I'm porting (Apache) APRlib to Darwin and tweak flex to install libfl.a as a link to libl.a. You might therefore come to the conclusion that my involvement with Darwin is not exactly over, and you would be correct.
For what it's worth, I've left those things I can no longer reach in good and capable hands; I couldn't have left them otherwise. As the one guy on "Dark Angel" says: "It's all good, all the time."
Pleasant hacking,
-Fred

People have been crowing about global warming for decades now, also that CFCs are depleating the ozone layer and will wreak havoc on god's green earth. Maybe they're right? Maybe it's time to put away your Aquanet.
I really dont think they should make it so hard to add a second drive or upgrade the existing drive. I guess they do this to make an average user buy an upgraded unit just for more space.
I'll give up my G4 when you pry it from my cold dead fingers, and although I hope Apple can pull this latest rumor off, I no longer put any stock into rumors until 1-2 weeks before a given Apple Event. So in other words, don't hold your breath, but here's dreaming.
The only ones who truely get spanked are the consumers. Now they have to shell out an additional $260 for a Raedon card. MMM imagine, G4 500 MP, Raedon, MacOS X bundle.
Which one you get anymore? They're all faster than you currently will ever need. I think these days it comes down to feature set, and I admit that I am interested in ATI's new board (gah, end of summer release????) with the DTV and HDTV onboard chipset.
Getting a new graphics card is worse than buying a new pc these days, a newer/faster/better model is being announced when the one that was just announced has finally been released. So you wait for the new cards only to find that new cards are around the bend and so fourth and so on.

ROCK ON FRED!
Obviously you're a woman, because as any guy can tell you, the getting laid is the most important part. The idea got thru well enough :)
How difficult would The Gimp be to port to Mac OS X without using X11 and VNC or XTools?
Big deal, if you didn't tell me it was Whistler, I wouldn't have known the difference.

We all know what you think, Mr. Gates.
