Yeah, Linux can run on a toaster or an old 486DX. Big fucking deal. I don't think too many companies are planning on running business apps on either of those platforms.
Unless for whatever reason the OEM wants to put Windows on it. Maybe the other computers that they sell run Windows and they don't want the expense of training their existing support staff on a new OS. Maybe the additional cost to advertise a computer that runs Linux is higher than paying the licensing fee to MS and letting them take care of the advertising. Maybe it's another reason. In any case, I'm sure that if the OEM believed that putting Linux on the thing would raise the bottom line, they would. Linux can be cheaper, but it's not always more valuable.
The end user won't be installing this OS on a home-built system. This OS will come on a pre-build system that meets the specs (with the primary spec being CHEAP.) I'm thinking that these boxes will be sealed and not upgradeable - something like a a sub $100 appliance type of deal.
An OS like this is perfect for this type of box.
The problem with the French is they think that they could be the center of power in a unified Europe if only they manage to take the US down a notch or two. Everything that they've done in the last ten or so years has been designed to hurt and / or make the US look bad.
Why bother with Asterisk when you can buy one of these for less than $100? You get call routing, one FXS and one FXO port, lots of configurable options, and great community
I realize that Asterisk is a good fit for some specific applications, but you can buy a complete call router for less than a single port FXS card....
You can listen to most of the Sirius stations online at sirius.com. This is free for subscribers, and non-subscribers can get a free trial.
Sirius is really just better than XM. Better music, no commercials, and free internet streams for when I'm at work or in a hotel on the road. Also, Howard Stern will be exclusive to Sirius in Jan 2006. Like him or not (I do,) he's a huge draw....
The standard M16A2 service rifle is not available to the general public because it includes a "three round burst" feature.
You are probably confusing the M16 with the AR15. The AR15 is the civilian version of the M16, basically exactly the same except it DOES NOT have three round burst.
Except for the AR15's "scary military appearance," it is not fundimentaly diferent than any other rifle that has ever been produced.
As for you idea of banning any armament sold to any military, are you including things like the Barrett 92FS handgun, SOG knives, or military swords? What about civilian versions of military vehicles? The military Hummer can be fitted with a.50 cal machine gun (amoung other things,) so does the civilian Hummer also make your list?
The second amendment didn't say "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms (but only if they don't scare Sen Boxley or my grandmother and only if they can only shoot 5 feet,) shall not be infringed."

Oh, you're a faggot.

Almost as interesting as this one.
Is this a poor write-up by the article submitter?
Why don't you RTFA and find out?

Whitebox linux seems to be doing the same thing. Will Red Hat chase down all of these RHEL forks? Doesn't this sort of go against the Linux "way?"
The Holocost is "disputed" by some as well. Don't believe everything that you see on the internet....
Sounds just like Cananda....
