    If the _filesystem_ is encrypted, then you can't mount it without the key. If the files are encrypted, then you can't make sense of their contents without the key(s).

    Oh, and going back and looking at the source for the SVG, it looks like the energy density (by volume) is ~1000x higher. It's just difficult to tell by looking at the graph, because the energy density of uncompressed hydrogen is so close to zero. So, it could be infinite or if that looks (visually) to you like uncompressed hydrogen is ~.5 or ~1.0, it could be 10x or 20x.

    I guess I'm saying the graph isn't the best at transferring the information ;-)

    I'm amazed by the low energy density (by weight) of liquid hydrogen. I expected the density if liquid hydrogen vs gaseous hydrogen to be much higher.

    Sure, I have to get iTunes from Apple, but at least that's free, and runs on MacOS and Windows. My complaint with iTunes is that it's not available on a free OS, so there's still some cost for the software (Windows or OSX).

    For a desktop, I don't care about this. For my laptop. Especially for my Mac laptop, I want this because it's the closest Steve will get to doing a 'dock' for a Mac Laptop again. (I owned a Powerbook Duo 210/2100, so don't feel the need to remind me about them).

    For now when I put my Mac laptop on the stand on my desk, I plug in 6 cables: power, network, display, Firewire, and two USB (one is for the KVM, so that can't go into a hub, and the KVM is only 12Mbit, so the other cable can't go into it for reasonable speed).

    With Light Peak, I could do two cables: Power and Light Peak.

    Really? That's weird, as I had a PC (work's) with the old version of iTunes for stripping the DRM, and a Mac (personal) which I kept iTunes up to date on, and did the actual downloads from iTunes of the DRM'd songs.

    That's what they want, but there's no reason to do so. Just use an old version of iTunes, QTFairUse6.exe and a windows box. Strip all the DRM and you're done.

    That's what I did with all the free Pepsi bottle-cap, and Free-this-week songs I got off iTunes. Not one to buy downloaded music, still a CD luddite myself...

    According to a friend of mine who worked at Apple and did a white paper for them on resolution independence, you need ~200 DPI on the display before you can get away with scaling all the UI elements without them jumping around by 1/2 pixels, etc and it being annoying to the user. That's why the iPhone as a ~200 DPI screen. So, the IBM T-221 display would be awesome for resolution independence, but typical monitors, "not so much".

    Disclaimer: I bought the i7 version of the 17".

    A friend was trying to decide between the i5 and i7 version of the 15", and GeekBench seems to show ~13% improvement, which he figured is worth the $200.

    but the i7 at least supports HT, so you get 4 virtual cores, which can result in a speedup over just 2 real cores.
