My RSS aggregator chopped the title off at "Crew Ends 100 Day Mars Simulation in..." and some twisted part of me chanted "... a ball of fire, a ball of fire" as I clicked the link. Does this speak ill of me, or would it be an expected NASA blunder?
You also beat me to the punch.
Dasher was designed for people with no hands or without the ability to use them, for one-handed use, and for PDAs.
WPM count is only "fair" because it requires a hand-eye coordination and reaction timing, since it's like a game in itself, versus the tactile muscle-memory involved in key pounding.
For me, ritePen is a bit faster, but this handwriting recognition software relies on a hand-eye coordination aspect.
I know this won't get modded up much, but I have to say it:
Most of the time, the article which is linked from a blog isn't very meaty or involving.
This article rose beyond a simple statement of fact and drew me into an exciting story to read. Who doesn't love a good chase?
A great read!
So they're not entirely goggles, but it's still cumbersome. Not to mention you have to take off any prescription spectacles to use it.

"consumers wouldn't benefit much from a system in which good products simply display seals of approval"
Reminds me of Tommy Boy: It's guaranteed because it's worth less.

You know her soul has died how? Oh yeah that's right. You must be God.
Somehow I doubt God would choose an online forum as a vehicle.
There is no separate button on top: you press down on the WHOLE mouse body.
