There is nothing wrong with generated code if you trust the sender. Plus if the code sent over the network is executed in a sandbox/jvm it shouldnt be incredibly risky (obviously a lot of potential for DoS attacks).
Code can be a very concise way to express an algorithm.
come on moderator! I've been modded down off topic for saying that a link someones posted to some nmap porn (in an nmap article) is crap. either a link to nmap porn is offtopic in which case so is my comment, or it is not (and according to the moderators at the moment it is fully ontopic), but a comment following on from an ontopic link should defo not be offtopic!
come on!!!! Actually I dont care, ive just got back from the pub so i'm prepared to waste my time justifying my comments (and making my.self look stupid if the moderation get metamoderated) cos im slightly pissed
Just read the spec and I think its horrible. In the preamble M$ talk about how DNS already has a record for where mail should be delivered TO, then they discount the idea of having a record of where mail should be delivered FROM and move on to creating a SUBDOMAIN with a TXT record. guess what the subdomain is called - "_mp". Yuck Yuck Yuck. And I'm not even going to talk about having XML (limited to 2048 bytes) which no longer leaves DNS as a text protocol. This is a complete ugly hack!
Clearly AOL's Sender Permitted From idea is laods more in the spirit of existing DNS usage.
WTF has modelling al qaeda got to do with the iraqi resistance? the myth that iraq was harbouring al qaeda has been widely debunked, as have pretty much all of the other excuses that GWB/TB used to go into Iraq.
Iraqi resistance are fighting against what they perceive as a (neo colonial) invasion of their country, whereas al qaeeda commit terrorist acts against american and perhaps other western targets.

no in this case some joker has tar'd up what appears to be a gentoo distribution. the implication that this is Microsoft's crown jewels is funny, but not what you're looking for.
it says 1726 bytes in body next to where it says read more. I haven't seen that feature before. Its safe how it indicates that there is more to the article and its worth clicking on, when normally you couldn't be arsed to read all the comments!:-) If JohnKatz did a massive feature (does he do them any more?), this would help me decide not to read it!
> Just don't obsess over architecture-specific compiler flags and optimizations, please -- for almost all applications I use, even just ten minutes of my time isn't worth a 5% boost in performance.
This is it - if we were talking a 40% performance boost, it would be a different story and I would compile everything from source, but as it is I don't reckon you can even tell the difference in a 5% or 10% performance increase anyway.
BBC's charter is renewed every 10 years, and it is this charter that allows it to operate/collect the license fee. There is always an anti-BBC lobby that is against everyone having to pay a poll tax on the BBC.
If it ends up releasing British citizens for paying for the BBC whether they watch it or not, some good will have come of this.
There is a major problem with the BBC, namely that it is a poll tax and that everyone has to pay an equal amount regardless of income etc. Set against this we have the fact that the BBC is probably the most respected broadcasting organisation across the world, in many more oppressed countries, the BBC provides an external point of view to the state owned media. Within the UK out of 5 terrestrial analogue channels, only 3 are any good and 2 of those are BBC channels. The fact that by paying the licence fee we don't see adverts so are subjected to less consumption pressure must be a breath of fresh air, considering virtually every other channel you pay for still displays adverts (Sky One, UK Gold etc). Finally I suspect the BBC is a really good advert for the UK around the world.
If we could sort out the funding of the BBC it would be better, but I think getting rid of the BBC for example would be an incredibly short sighted move by any government.
Now we're talking!
does that mean you need 3 bicycle pumps to inflate it then?..
like a noose gradually tightening our liberties are imperceptibly reduced until the ruling elite have us on a leash.
the only choice we have is whether the elite is right wing or left wing.
It is the inevitable consequence of power (power acretes power).
I could go on. But I won't.
I know, why don't they make it so you can use the PSP as a controller for the PS2?
oh.

dear america,
a couple of years ago 3000 of you (and brits and others) died. out of a population of 300 million.
every year far more than 3000 of you are murdered with guns, by your own people. [cant find find the link i'm thinking of here]
Your biggest threat is not terrorists, but yourselves.
America, you ARE at liberty.
if you want to know HOW to do something you do a vocational course like MCSE.
if you want to know WHY you are doing it, you do a degree.
looks like you didn't even check what was on the course before you did it.
