I didn't realise John Woo had made Face/Off. I don't understand why people like Face/Off at all, I think Nicholas Cage is an appalling actor in it. Travolta was OK tho.
"Well, it is illegal to screen like that - and frankly, for a healthy democracy, it's probably better to have this in the open. Still, disturbing to see."
not to forget, everybody's votes should be transparent, there should be no secrecy in the ballot process. Its probably better to have that in the open.
the article doesn't make clear what (if any) advantage this system posesses over bluetooth? Is this product announcement just capitalising on negative bluetooth security publicity and the RFID buzzword, or is there more to it than that?
As bluetooth is already in millions of devices, it seems churlish to ignore this.
I know this sounds like a troll but I was having a look on the website and these rovers don't move very much do they? if it moves 4 meters this is considered of import.
also whats with waking up to all these songs every morning? whats that do? do the rovers have advanced music perception algorithms? didn't think so.
> perhaps by judging reviews on Amazon or whatever
I've had bad experiences with the reviews on amazon. basically its not in amazons interest to have too many reviews slating a book. they're better off printing positive reviews about everything.
The publishers send loads of books out for free to lecturers in the hopes that the lecturer will recommend this text to the students that year. This ends in the ludicrous situation of some lecturers having 3 different editions of the same text, and the competing/equivalent books from other publishers. Some of the lecturers handle this well by giving surplus books away to those who ask.
Perhaps you're not into highend games or decent graphics. I bought a 9600 pro about 6 months ago on the basis that if I can't get it to work well in linux, then bollocks I'll just have to reboot to windows.
One of the others ("MSN Search Blocking Results For XFree86?") didn't really have enough data to prove or disprove (so it's probably not worth the 868 comments it attracted).
What are you talking about? if you either click on the link in the story, or go to msn.com, type "xfree86" in the box at the top, then click on search, you only get 1 result, which is porn and it warns you about.
If you go to any other search engine there is more than one result and it isnt this nightcrawler business. google has 2.4 million.
tellingly if you search on google for xfree86 nightsurf, you only get 28 results, none of which is the website that msn throws up.

It was illegal in the sense that USA has signed treaties with UN, which GWB willfully broke and went against the mandates of the security council
DAMMIT! we only get 20MB at uni!
It is similar to those moronic christians who cut down evergreen trees because they symbolize eternal life
Its a pagan tradition.
See... ./ does rot the brain...

RTFA, it says it will operate at 2cm seperation and whoever modded the parent(#8601744) up is inexcusable.

I would be interested to hear counterexamples.

> What happened to the concept of a free market?
Well its not a free market when an un-natural monopoly exists, so it sure as hell can't make it any worse
what was that noise?
that was the sound of 1 million script kiddies around the world coming in their pants
> A citizen of USA will cross the ocean to fight for democracy,
OT I know but its not like any war that USA fights has got anything to do with democracy
this is one of the few comments on slashdot that deserves a moderation of insightful.
