  1. Yeah, How the heck does it work? on Townshend and Generative Lifehouse · · Score: 1

I'm just curious about how this whole generative music thing works. The original post by Black Parrot is somewhat informative...but I'm sure we'd all like to know how it comes together in detail. If anyone knows more...I'd certainly be interested in the down and dirty details. Sounds pretty cool.

  2. Han and Chewie? Lovers? YES! on Major Star Wars Character To Die in Next Books · · Score: 0

There was something going on between Han and Chewie. I noticed it when, in A New Hope, Luke starts flirting with Han on the way to rescue Leia. There's no argument that there is something fruity about Luke, especially the way the character was portrayed by Mark Hamill. He pretends to be interested in Leia...even though he's a budding Jedi and should be aware that's she's his SISTER! Anyway, the issue here is Chewie. He and Han spend all this time in the Millenium Falcon together...I wonder what they were doing during the lulls in excitement?

Quite frankly...the Good Reverend makes a fine point. Most of the war mongers that run the armed forces in the US are indeed christians. So....how's that bashing anybody? Besides, in anyone deserves a little persecution...I'd wager it's the Xtians. Bring on the apocalypse...MF!

When I was in elementary and middle school, I was unfortunate enough to be placed in the 'gifted' program. It was condsidered a 'promotion' to better learning/teaching/whatever. In retrospect, I wonder if it was actually an initiative to remove people who thought somewhat differently from the regular population of the school. Although I did get something out of it, learning a little BASIC, I now question the overall effect of such programs. I read a lower post about being an outcast of such a program, and I must confess that I was an outcast within such a program. I never liked it, except for the fact that it got me out of regular school one day a week. The way I saw it, everybody in the 'gifted' program had problems. None of us got along with the normal kids very well. Public school serves one pupose == socialization. If you start to categorize kids, even that gets screwed up == screwed up kids.

This AC is not 'espousing racial bigotry' - rather engaging in an racially aware dialog. You are free to disagree with ACs comments and opinions, but you can't write off these ideas simply because they are 'racist'...

Yo, check your logic...if whites are 49% of the population in SC and the largest single group...they ARE a majority in terms of social dynamics. It ain't like the Mexicans and Chinese are on a team together or some shit. "Let's all gang up on white people!" -- Nice thought.

One of the problems with our world is that people who express ideas outside of the norm are ostracized. Perhaps if society was more open to allowing people to express their beliefs, we might understand each other better.

Anonymous Cowards quite often makes comments that are off the wall...I think we can all learn from these comments while not adopting them as our own. I did...did you?

Why are med students such fucking winers? Yeah, you deserve to make some serious money...but at who's expense. Medicine is a very OLD monopoly...and oh yes...it will fall! Personally, I don't give a shit about certifications or the AMA...because I can't even go to the doctor when I need to == no health insurance. Now, maybe if health insurance or care was not SO expensive, ordinary people would be able to afford decent care when they get SICK. And debt...for med school? There are so many loopholes to get out of paying student loans back, especially for crooked doctors. What are you worried about anyway? Your parents payed up, right? Most fucking poor kids can't afford to go to medical school...because they have to work AND go to school. Maybe the problem with our current system is the fact that you have to be RICH to become a doctor (OK...so there are a FEW exceptions).

Throw out the studid ass certification programs...see if I give a fuck. Maybe that way I'll actually be able to see a doctor.

Another problem is that A LOT of doctors are in it for the money! That's why there are so many MALE doctors and almost no male kindergarten teachers. Maybe if people got into the medical profession because they actually wanted to HELP people...instead of being a bunch of Quincy-ass-Noah Wiley lookin'-ER watchin' punks...the rest of us could spen our money (and debt) on things like FOOD.

I don't mean to attack you personally, Alik. The medical INDUSTRY just pisses me off...that's just my view. I suggest you quit worrying about $$$ and realize that you are a public servant!

Doctors don't work THAT hard...get a fucking manual labor job for about a week then multiply by thirty years and see how comfortable your late night study sessions seem then.
