Latin? I thought it was an editorial abreviation for "seen in context". Unfortunately, dictionary.com agrees with the Latin explanation. I think my mnemonic is easier to recall than the Latin, though.

I painted my MS ergo keyboard a few years back, had no problems at all. Just set it on cardboard and blasted it with black and white speckle spray. Gives it a nice feel. While it does rub off, that is the only problem, and the look of fury on the boss' face when he tried to use my workstation was worth every penny I paid.

in re 1) impossible to know, because the spooks won't sit down and compare notes. having come from a locked room military environment, i seroiusly doubt they were 20 years ahead. the military operated in a misguided semi-vacuum state back in the 80's; when 3DES was slammed. i'd say some individuals were ahead of the game, but not the establishment, and not 20 years. 2) i know some. here's a short quick list of topics that get TS-X'd (that's top secret with compartmentalization): body counts, nuke monitoring results, time sensitive intel, special mission deployment data, codes, active operations comm. and area 51 video of the aliens, of course. 3) what is the probability? if there is a scientific method to breaking the code, then yes, most likely i would agree. But if it relies on an intuitive leap, i would not put money on probability; and the people making the break are in the best position to know if what they have found is revolutionary or rudimentary.

Unlike a noun such as "car" disappear is a verb. YOu really should try reading the dictionary before you espouse about it's contents. It describes something happening, not something existing. It implies an event, as opposed to an object. As a verb, it's form can be changed from passive to active, or from past tense to present or infinitive, transient or intransient, and it's just fine with Mirriam & Webster. It is, in fact, listed in both forms used herein IN THE DICTIONARY. RTFM.
