I don't sense an impending disaster for one simple reason.
I really don't think they're going to be able to pull this venture off. It sounds like a neat idea, but in the end, the objections about how little we know of life will probably spell the death of this type of experiment pretty quickly. Unless one knows the origin of life and how it came to be, how can we expect to replicate it?
Last time I checked Pearl Harbour was deliberately planned by the US so they can get back at Japan.
For what? Because the Japanese were invading China? President Roosevelt ordered the air force to bomb OUR battleships in our harbor? Does your statement make any sense to any one, other than conspiracy theory fiends? If this is an accepted historical theory, I sir, will eat my hat. On the other hand, I might be part of the Illumanti come to get you.
Except of course the Galapagos Penguin which lives near the Equator, and the South Cape Penguin which lives in South Africa. And the penguins that live in Australia ( I forget their names). I think rock hopper penguins live on the coasts of South America. And Linux penguins..oh..no Linux jokes.
Well, yeah, I'd like to hope most child psychologists have been to a zoo, amusement park, etc. Though...all the screaming children might affect their proposed treatments somewhat...
I'm probably going to get marked troll for this, but if science is never 100 % correct due to inherent skepticism (even as Richard Feynmann said in his Lectures on Physics), then why do so many evolutionary biologists claim that evolution is the only true fact and anyone who disagrees with them is wrong?
I think some people are overlooking the hypocrisy of such adherence to evolution, while insulting intelligent design because it's acceptable on slashdot.
Certainly, there are many out there ID proponents, and I think people have a tendency to focus only on those few in the same manner as people lambast the far right and the far left in politics, and it gets worse when people unfairly lump everyone in a category.
I think it's fair to say that ID people can have reasonable beliefs as well evolutionists. So feel free to laugh at me, but I think its worth thinking about.
I think everyone here keeps thinking of microwaves as electromagnetic waves, when it's quite obvious what the plan is. A GE microwave runs up 1,100 watts, which means the solar sail is going to be made up of over 54,500 microwaves. Think about the benefits. GE gets rich off the order, there's no neded for a 60 MW space station, and best of all, the astronauts get a thrill because they don't have to have a cold meal in space ever again. And who wants their liquid beef cold? This plan is perfect. (Except for the extension cords..better start wiring those now)

Actually, they're just wearing really heavy boots

-I'd give anything to be around at that time
If you give me 25 bucks I'll go out and buy you some sunscreen and some UV protection sunglasses.

P.S. encoded on this document is a map that will lead to the greatest treasures the world has ever known.
P.P.S. Use Lemon Juice

Is a lawsuit of Biblical proportions one where the sky goes dark for 3 days and rivers turn to blood unless the prosecution wins?
