Besides, of the more serious type of sci fi, Babylon was the best, by far, except for the anticlimatic bit at the end of the series. It's the only series I sat down and personally taped every episode thereof (or almost every episode). But, then, I bought the final season of Voyager and liked it a lot. Also, the final season of DS9. I liked the original Galactica, in spite of the somewhat cheesey plotting and even cheesier acting. It seems to me that a lot of sci fi fans really aren't. They are fans of a particular show...not the same thing.
I really don't imagine that respect is required. Just leave.
I didn't know she was so hated as what I see in the replies to this news. I did not know about the way she was affecting employees.
What did seem obvious to me was first, that she wanted to merge two companies, when her own company would gain nothing to speak of, and the other company would likely be saved from bankruptcy. When I heard her comments about the reasons for the desired merger and more talk about the future direction of HP, I new then she was talking doubletalk and gibberish, just making impressive sounding noises. What really surprised me was that the rest of HP couldn't tell this. As far as moral error goes, I agree that she changed what the company stands for from one of the few with both technical excellence and marketing excellence to something undecipherable (hopefully) or just Microsoft-like marketing excellence (her prideless goal) with no thought given to the quality of the product. I had more respect for the former HP than for most tech companies, just because of said excellences coexisting. It is so rare. Nuff said.
Amen to that. My company, a municipality, doesn't get rid of troublemakers and deadbeats (nor thieves). It has caused working here to be a nightmare, at times. Management is always in control, but, does not always activate said control.
