And Star Wars, Disney is flogging it to death. Time for some new _sci _fi_ universes - preferably ones that are creative commons from the outset so some corp like paramount can't use it's grubby influence to limit the possibilities in the stories.
Pitting older technologists against younger technologists (and visa versa) is just a way to drive the salary costs down for both groups. It also denies both young and old technologists the opportunity to combine energy with experience. Expose a young technologist to that experience and it may save them weeks of time exploring some avenue and come up with some new approach the experienced person hadn't seen.
If being younger in IT means having the shit flogged out of you as it ruins your social life (ironically reinforcing the stereotype) and being older in IT mean having your experience devalued by people that don't understand that technologists do what they do to continuously get better at it, then this kind of attitude can only be counter productive for the IT industry as a whole as why would any sane person invest their time in qualifying for such a career if its longevity is threatened.
Pulling the "heartstrings" with security researchers is usually a pretty bad move.
We have none. What you mistake for them is the strings that makes us drop the shit on you.
Another way to look at it is you are protecting the people who would be subject to the consequences of their incompetence. Most of the people buying those products or services don't have the technical knowledge to make an informed evaluation and simply 'trust' the vendor is doing the right thing.
Well it is proper that a security researcher does not have that trust because their duty is to the people who do have that trust so that they don't get hurt or ripped off as a result of those with just enough knowledge to be making dangerous or stupid products. Will you not get blamed for not pointing out the issue or missing it if it was your company making that product?
Stupidity, nonfeasance, malfeasance and negligence have caused a lot of harm in the community and though my days in that role have long past, I have little tolerance for it as we see ordinary people suffering the consequences of it every day. Dropping the shit means you may have stopped someone suffering those consequences.
Having witnessed the devastating consequences on some people lives first hand I wouldn't frame it as not having heartstrings, just that your loyalties are in the right place and you are doing your job properly.
Sure, which was in line with the Montreal Protocol coming into force in 1989. However the hole peaked in size in 2006. The Nuclear Industry gets an exemption to the M.P so it can use CFC114 in the enrichment process and while it was still operating it leaked over a ton of CFC114 into the atmosphere each day of those 25 years.
I don't think it is unreasonable to point that out, after all, it was the leading emitter of CFC114 according to EPA data.
I understand that you are referring to Cl55 from atmospheric nuclear tests, however there was another source related to the nuclear industry.
The Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant was the largest emitter of CFC114 into the atmosphere for many years due to the miles of pipes that it used to pump the gas to enrich uranium in the form of
Uranium hexafluoride or "Hex".
CFC-114 was one of the gasses known to deplete the ozone layer and was regulated by the Montreal Protocol. The plant was closed down in 2013 so it isn't very surprising that the hole in the ozone layer is starting to recover.
Your stories can no longer be imaginative and better than our, you must find a way to make them more lame because we don't know how to. Breach these conditions and we will sue you out of existence.
Personally, I think the fan stories are more interesting. I've kind of given up on paramount's version of star trek because it is usually disappointing so I don't see any point in it any more. I think the fan fiction is the only thing keeping their franchise alive simply because CBS make the movies for a wider audience that isn't interested in ST knowing that fans will go for the eye candy.
I think that once CBS lamifies the fan fiction, it's all over for star trek, at least for me, simply because it's just not that interesting or challenging anymore.
You must be talking about the Stazi, if I am picking up on your inference correctly? The tools of oppression are many and varied, the people you are talking about are too insular and afraid to look at such things. Worse that there is no hope for cowards, that they destroy hope for all.
I can't say if the majority of/.rs believe that, but I do know that there are some people here that are very aware of the things that you speak of. The inference of this technology is very clear - 'we can film you - but you can't film us'. The state wants the power to allow law enforcement to be thugs to keep people in a state of fear as it is a tool of oppression. We were all blind for a long time, however now that we all have cameras, we can all see the activities of the state and confront its representatives with the evidence.
You are right about there being no refuge and the only thing that I have seen in recent time to balance that is that everyone and anyone can be a random witness at any time and the kind of thuggery you are speaking of can be recorded as evidence and used to challenge that states version of events. This kind of important advancement is not merely a 'power to the people' kind of thing, it's an evolution of society as a whole to force the state to live up to the professional standards they profess to be maintaining.
It also show how poisonous the music industry is and that the consequences of their 'Digital Restrictions Management' has had a much broader effect in the general community than any of us could have imagined and as such, inevitable that such technology would be invented. Whilst I have no doubt that there will be some sort of hack to overcome any implementation of it, that means nothing to the general population. The new (superior) model of witnessing state violence is being challenged with the premise of blinding a society who eyes have just been opened. We will have to watch how this development unfolds very carefully indeed.
If I was a hidden autocracy in control of massive oil wealth that controlled the world through a nation I would certainly want to have weapons available that would take orders and not have any loyalty to fellow citizens.
Would you? Because I'd use that massive wealth to provide people with bread and circuses and invest the rest to developing promising new technologies, such as renewables, AI and space travel, so I'd keep my grip on power and have a population base necessary for decent culture and science production.
Perhaps they have enough wealth to do all of that and more. It's just a pity that the rest of the population have to run this pointless rat race that just hold all of humanity back.
If I was a hidden autocracy in control of massive oil wealth that controlled the world through a nation I would certainly want to have weapons available that would take orders and not have any loyalty to fellow citizens. Can't have soldiers questioning why they are shooting at their own people, they just wouldn't do it.
AI tanks, AI Drones, AI Ships, AI Helicopters, AI fighter aircraft, AI weapons. The world would be my videogame, a real life sc fi with all of us on the other side.
No peace in our time, ever. Just more more more fucking war.
If they can't run a city or civilization in a simulation - what chance do they have of running one in real life. Yes, I know people aren't computers, I mean just as a starting point to assess their skills and worthiness to be in office.
If the story is so disengaging that you want to speed it up then it says a lot about the story and character development. Sounds to me like it is the same thing wrapped up in "different" shows. Once you realize that all the story does is climb up and down Maslow's hierarchy of needs over and over they all become very predictable.
Personally I prefer a good story told well that is engaging enough to not want to slow it down, I am just looking for some down time. On the other hand my friend's autistic son watches up to five videos all at the same time, so maybe he can see these shows in another way, i.e. the same story with lots of different pictures all at once.
Not having UK in EU might be a good thing, at least we'd have a lot less of bitching and bickering over nothing.
The leavers in the UK seem to be the 'pompous gits' and I'm wondering if the EU isn't partially releived that the dead weight is gone. It's like being snubbed by one of your favoured friends and seeing their true colours.
It's called wit, you can only possibly have half a hope of understanding this. How is that for condescending? You are a garden variety anonymous troll.
sometimes when you're not a pretentious cunt you just want decent food at a reasonable price quickly without requiring a lot of work.
What about the times when you're not a pretentious cunt, do you cook then? Or are you always a pretentious cunt?
some of us work hard and long hours so we can move out of our parents houses.
Well I can assure you that it is my kitchen, in my house, that I'm using. Perhaps if you didn't eat take away *all the time* you could afford your own house. The roast lamb with anchovies, garlic, roast potatoes, carrots brocconi cost me $20 to feed four people, plus myself left overs for the next day or so.
Don't underrate the time/money savings in preparing food yourself. Such a meal is an hour to prepare and the same with a few other recipes that I can freeze and have prepared within ten minutes of getting home after doing all those long hours - and still have an awesome feed. Those freezable meal I make feed me for several weeks and are designed around getting good food fast. I can't even get delivery that fast.
i'd rather a consistent robot than angst filled teenager capable of manufacturing and distributing hair, mucus, saliva, blood, semen and other biological contaminants onto my pizza.
An anonymous robot making and anonymous pizza for an annoymous coward - sorry friend it's going to be primed by an anonymous human. An anonymous pizza robot primer can jizz into the sauce container for the robot to maximize the distribution of semen over many pizzas. Coupled with some of foot shavings into the flour of the robot feeder and some urine into the water tank should encourage people to learn how to cook for themselves.
Once you learn how to cook for yourself you can appreciate that creativity and variation is the thing about food that makes it interesting. That is the difference between feeding, eating and dining.
My guess is that you're not an Apple user, since you enjoyed oral sex from a girl.
When I was referring to 'Apple" I was referring to my swollen lightly massaged testicles, and Thunderbolt because when you cum it's really intense. I suppose be cause I capitalized the words people took it that way however I wasn't referring to Apple at all. I think it's is a really interesting observation though, that Apple users have disappeared so far up their own arseholes that they can't even see the funny side of something and instantly take it as criticism.
I mean, no one is suggesting Tim Cook uses an iDildo are they?
Frankly, by any sane system anybody who was born in any country you have ever ruled should qualify for automatic citizenship of Britain - it's the only fair compensation for having been ruled by Britain.
That would be like saying "Any country with a US base in it should be able to have one of their bases in the US". Thing is though, if you have a british ancestor and live in a commonwealth country then you can get a British passport. The thing is this referendum just took away the last incentive to do so.
I can't see this turning out very well for the people of the UK.
Big time. Isn't it funny how the BBs blame the younger generations for having all the attitudes they have. They got free education, free healthcare and they want a free pension. Meanwhile younger generations have to pay for all those things and they label them as slackers with a sense of entitlement. No wonder the world is fucked.
The only BBs who give a shit about any other generation are so few that they make no difference anyway.
I should friend you because every time I see your pseudonym I have fond memories of a former girlfriend performing oral sex on me in one of these vehicles. The special feature of this vehicle is the way the AC vents are at the correct distance for optimal testicular cooling (or it was just the vehicle I was in at the time). These are the instruction for using this feature:
1. Whilst the car is parked somewhere discrete, idle the engine with the windows closed and the AC on.
2. Whilst in the drivers seat pushed all the way back, open you pants, extract your dick and have you partner point the AC directly at your testicles
3. Have your preferred partner perform oral sex on you
4. OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH YEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!!
Additional saliva on your balls will enhance the sensation, though, people with heart conditions should be cautioned not to try this. Obviously you must ensure the vehicle is secure according to the arrangement of your parking break. For the purposes of this discussion, let's call it an Apple Thunderbolt, and for good reason.
It is still the lowest common denominator of video ports. When all also in the stupid conference room is mis-configured to the point of uselessness you connect to VGA. However I have not seen anyone actually request their monitor be hooked up via VGA, it is just nice to have as a last ditch option to still be able to have your meeting.
Coincidentally, I was reading this post on my laptops second output, a VGA. It works and is pretty good.
