What if you're wrong and your government killed civilians to convince you to go to war, while you supported them all along the way? Would you have the courage to fight for justice, against all odds? Would you care?
there's no proof that you can give to conspiracy theorist, that will convince him he is wrong.
Sure there is.. just provide evidence, stop lying, and answer THE questions directly. Is that too much to ask in a free country? What have they got to hide?
That's it, exactly. They're hiding something, and I know it! Why are they hiding things from me? Keeping all these secrets looks really bad, y'know. Terrorists don't care what the tapes of the Pentagon crash show, but I sure do. If they've got nothing to hide...
When they come clean I'll be convinced.
Can you handle the truth? What if you're wrong and your government killed civilians to get you to go to war, while you supported them all along the way? What if someone you know died fighting in these unnecessary wars? Could you handle the truth? Would you have the courage to fight for justice, against all odds? Would you care?
Do you believe buildings collapse from fire at near free-fall velocity?
Do you believe a kerosene fire could cause steel to melt, not just bend, into a molten puddle at the bottom of both the world trade center towers as well as tower 7, which was never hit by a plane?
If this is what you believe, give me some of what you're smokin.
Microsoft competes AND cooperates with open source, news at 11..
Why don't they just give up already? Concede. They lost! Their opinion is wrong. There's no need to drag this on. Anytime they wish to move on and get on with their lives they can adopt the full F/OSS model and make the world a better place. Until then they are just causing intentional friction because they're greedy and selfish.
Software and DRM. People always seem to brush over this, like its not obvious. DRM will essentially make this box a toaster for cheap plastic disks. I'd much rather put my money towards a gaming computer.
Where's the site? I want to publish my SSN. I have nothing to hide.;)
Seriously, though. I hate my government and anyone who believes in this SSN. Let's give them good cause to rid themselves of this security nightmare by creating the nightmare for them right now, here, today.
Let's broadcast it around the globe and let the feds know they're directly in conflict with our thoughts.
No one seems to care that global warming could cause more catastrophes like Enron. The value of the US dollar could cause catastrophes as well..
Responsible business means more than simply counting the money, its about making sure your environment will support business, so the next generation will be able to count the money..
Capitalists are too busy chasing the carrot in front of their face to look off in the distance at the truck heading straight for them..
When my life is threatened by your way of life I become very concerned with you and the way you think. I don't like the fact you believe in an afterlife. This, to me, means you think you're immortal. I don't like that you believe the world is going to end. How can I trust you not to help it end, just to prove your point?
When you right-click on the desktop, which is managed by nautilus and konqueror in GNOME and KDE respectively, a popup menu has several options to create a new icon, configure the desktop, etc. They usually also have an option here to launch a terminal, but that only seems to be available from time to time.
But I dunno, I just like ranting on and on about these little quirks. Every distro I've used has its faults, but at least they're not as bad as Windows. I have the option to replace the kernel or X11 or whatever suits my needs. But what I need is my own system, configured just the way I like it upon installation. Nothing else seems to work for me, because they're incomplete, full of bugs, lacking features and don't upgrade/update properly.
I was 15 years old once. It was about the same. People suck.
You can either see it for what it is and live and learn or pretend Uncle Sam's got your back or whatever. Wouldn't you rather not know what its like for them? Wouldn't you rather be ignorant of the facts? Wouldn't you rather be happy?
Okay, so you're a moron who complains about your incomplete installation, got it.
How do you make the autohide feature on the GNOME panel show only 1 pixel width?
How do you tell Nautilus which applications it should use for certain filetypes? Looks like they might have finally fixed this in 2.14. AFT!!!
What happened to the right-click terminal option in GNOME 2.14 in FC5? I noticed KDE brought it back.. hrmmm..
Maybe they don't think we notice these changes..
Whatever their reasons it directly impacts my experience..
So bad PR for GNOME, they need to get back with the program. It should be written by programmers for programmers, not by parents for children. If I wanted hand holding I'd buy a Mac.
Nautilus had all these features back in '98. They just had to bury them for a while to make it fair for everyone else..
Honestly, why have emblems and then take them away and bring them back? Are emblems confusing for the disabled or something? I'm sure there are reasons to take them away again. And what about web browsing? Everyone knows filemanagers like Explorer are really just web browsers.
GNOME is stupid. It feels like many people are trying to develope this DE by committee. I like the way KDE just quietly makes lots of progress instead of pretending its something its not. I like the way I can right-click and configure it without resorting to gconf-editor or whatever its called now. I have yet to need to edit any sort of KDE database to configure my desktop or apps. Its amazing. Its like it doesn't have a GNOME registry or something. Tell me, was GNOME just trying to be like Windows again? Because this whole registry idea feel very much like Windows. GNOME should be the default desktop for all mainstream linux distros, it suits 'em.
Hype Management style Design, or failure to properly redesign The entire project's sole focus on making money?
I don't know, Vista's just Microsoft. Its gunna be the most fastest, cheapest, bestest secure OS eva, oh yeah, uh huh. Whatever they gotta tell you to get your money. I bet they just update the graphics and move some things around to make you think its a whole new OS. I haven't seen much technical improvement since NT 3.51, and a lot of cowboy capitalist nonsense changing what was originally designed to be a stable server class kernel into a cheap gaming platform. And then there's the Xbox 360, which will probably end up making them lots of money and putting lots of competitors out of business again. Yay.
The whole point of the software that makes up a Linux OS is not to save you money, but to save you from the hassle of dealing with the Microsoft sort of marketplace, full of lies, half truthes, anythings-to-get-your-moneys. Its like a bunch of Smeagles running the top corporations in all the different markets, snatching up their almighty precious dollars. What I like about Linux is its focus on the art of programming.

Not that I really believe Bush planned it
Being the Decider, he could have decided to let a General draft it up for him at the Pentagon.
I know he looks like an idiot, but he's really our President. A very powerful man.
Questions for you:
What if you're wrong and your government killed civilians to convince you to go to war, while you supported them all along the way? Would you have the courage to fight for justice, against all odds? Would you care?

Could you imagine the look on their face if 30 million frustrated Americans marched up to D.C. with their guns in hand, demanding their rights, etc..
That's my American dream..
It'll never happen..
Now that Security and Stability are more difficult pressing issues than performance...
I have no security or stability issues with Linux.
If you're experiencing stability or security issues Minix won't be much help, not if Linux is currently too hard to learn.
Yet they believed freedom was more important than life itself.

Actually, hybrid kernels are a myth. The exokernel is what I was referring to.
That's cuz I read this before I posted..
making fun of hybrid micro kernels..
because they're not hybrids, they're monolithic..
