Well the Game Gear had color who knows how long before the Game Boy Color was released (and only just fairly recently with a backlight making it actually visible with the GBA SP)

My Atari Lynx had backlit colour even before the Game Gear, I still have it somwhere. It was a great system, and had it had better marketing, could have done for the handheld market what the NES did for the console market. Unfortunatly, it didn't, and the next hand held I ended up buying was the GBA SP. This weekend I finally bought a DS, it's screen is now about the right size to be able to port Lynx games over. I hope somone does.

I've always defined slashdot as "fun", as it's definately not work, and a good way of wasting time whilst being genuinly educated. I'd classify looking up the weather as work(well I would if I didn't have forecast fox installed), and looking up the actors name, or indeed most other leasure activities would come under "fun".

With Apple having such dominance of the market, will they be able to compete? Afterall, even now every commonplace mp3 player is oten referred to as an iPod, so won't people just think of this as an "Amazon iPod"? Unless they have a few tricks up their sleeve, some people will take this as a cheap copy and want "the real thing (tm)"

Who'd do that job, you've seen how much flack the /. editors get, if Wikipedia had editors they'd get even more, and aswell as being critisised for typos, dupes & not fact checking they would get accused of pushing various political agendas etc. which would kill Wikipedias NPOV guidelines.

I have a dual boot machine, the only reason for the Windows install games and dreamweaver. I'm happy with Gimp, and almost everything else, I just like the dreamweaver IDE; I never use the wsiwyg aspect of dreamweaver, but I still can't find a FOSS program that competes with it. Maybe it's just a case of sticking with what I'm used to, but I really would like to see Macromedia do a dreamweaver port to Linux.

i sincerly doubt it, everytime I see him make any argument he seems to really believe it. I think that if he convinced himself that black was white, he'd carry on believing it to the grave. Even if we don't get ID cards he'll remain convinced for the need for them. The fanatical force with which he puts his arguments, and the way he seems so exasperated with anyone who disagrees scares me at times.
