  1. Great..... on Phishers Face Jail Time Under New U.S. Bill · · Score: 4, Insightful

Congress is all over it. Now the problem is sure to be solved. :-/ I'm afraid that this lip service will once again make the general public think this will solve the problem. Nope. It may slow down folks within the US borders, but we all know the true result of bills like this. It just won't work.

Ahhh, the beauty of job security. Where would I be without lusers. My wife teaches mentally challanged kids and I tell her we have similar jobs. She looks at me strangly, until I tell her that a luser thought an old HPUX track ball was a mouse. And we want these folks to be concerned with security? Brilliant.

  3. Re:I 3 bittorrent on Pay-Per-View Downloads of TV Shows? · · Score: 0

Sorry, you misunderstood my post. "Embed the commercial" meant "product placement". How can you edit out the Coke can that someone is holding in a TV show?

  4. Re:I 3 bittorrent on Pay-Per-View Downloads of TV Shows? · · Score: 0

Commercial free yes. Product placement not. That is the new form of advertisement and I have a feeling that TV producers know this. Embed the commercial into the show and you have removed any possiblity of the consumer missing the product. Then there's no reason to sue anyone.

Both do suck, however how many people really will go out of their way to actually learn what platform each canidate represents? I know, I know, the /. crowd always checks the canidates positions on issues, but what about the rest of the population? I think SPAM from canidates wouldn't be half bad, as long as there was a format that had to be followed which provided the canidates stance on issues, and not any of the other crap.

  6. Re:Before you declare them "dead"... on Take A Look At Solaris 10 · · Score: 0

Very true. There are many a large company who feel, either right or wrong, that an all-in-one provider of an OS written exclusivly for the vendors own hardware is the way to go. Besides, how could anyone not love dtrace delivered with Sol10. I love linux as much as the next person, but I've always liked Solaris since the days of SunOS. They just were slow to make changes when they were needed and now they are playing some serious catch up, but they will survive I believe.

  11. Meh.... on Preparing for the Broadcast Flag? · · Score: 0, Offtopic

I probably get flamed for this, but I really don't care enough about television to have an opinion about the issue. Will/has it spread out to other forms of "media rights?" I believe so, but then again, the music industry can join televsion in the toilet for all I care. I won't miss it.......at least, I don't think so.......Hmmm, life without television or music, who would raise our kids???

Pass. The one's who pay the bills make the rules. Who's to say that a powerful retailer, who is paying for 'your' time, via ads, decides that the competitor isn't worthy of being accessed via this service. It does say 'free internet' and 'filtered content' is implied I'm afraid.

Ah, so you don't have a problem with putting out a game where the character goes around and molestes children for points? Once censorship starts, it doesn't end. Thats the problem.
