  3. but check some stats on How Text Ads Tamed Ads on the Wild, Wild Web · · Score: 2, Interesting

I'd actually argue that while the text ads had something to do with it, the massive growth in pop-up/under blockers made as much of a difference, if not even more.

but i'm pretty that annoying ads, even tricky pop-under ones, never had the kind of click % that google ads to.

  19. think straight you fools! on A Delay in the Michigan Violent Games Law · · Score: 2, Interesting

so many of you are condemning this bill as if it will destroy video games, but you are so horribly mistaken i am blown away!

if "ultra-violent" (lol clockwork orange) video games are not allowed to be sold to kids, responsibility will be on the parents who buy games for their kids -- where the responsibility should be -- instead of on game developers.

this is just like the jack thompson case. we think it's funny that he is off his case now, but when another (less insane) lawyer does take the case, who knows what might happen.

hmm i don't think so, someone who has some songs on their phone would probably not see the need for another device for songs in their pocket..

this does add up my friend, another article like this was available the day after the crappy rokr came out. apple likely plans on releasing a phone that they design themself in the future.

  21. as a christian, i'm pissed on Kansas Board of Ed. Adopts Intelligent Design · · Score: 1

    this is stupid.

anyone who voted to have ID taught (or accepted) in public schools should re-evaluate their lives.

if they want to teach their children something different from what the school does, they should just do it. if they are so insanely concerned that their kids will learn the wrong thing, perhaps they are not teaching them anything at home?

we live in a country where uploading one movie over the internet can incur a fine of $150,000 and even jail time, and stealing a dvd from best buy might not even land you a night in jail! do you think that i will let a government that can maintain these 2 conflicting ideas teach my children what is right and wrong?

  22. the school had a policy of student abstinence? on Court Finds For Student In Web FOS Case · · Score: 1

if the school did legitimately have a policy for student abstinence (which it may very well have, especially if it were a private and/or religious school) then they were well within their limits.

there is a big difference between doing something on campus that violates school policy, and making a website from home.

(the people in group 3 are really in 2, but they are lying to themselves so i will go along with it)

so yeah, your plan makes sense to people who don't deal with cheaters, but it doesn't work in reality :/
