    The man who took nintendo from a local playing card company , to a corperate Behemoth of the Gaming world.
    If it wern't for his foresight , it is likely today the only time you would hear the name nintendo , is if for some reason someone read the manufacturing info on a deck of cards during a game of poker.

    I will whatch it , as i am intrested to see how it is as opposed to the reviews etc. It just looks from the stills thats its insanely odd and manga esk.
    However nothing is disuading me from my belife that the other costumes look like those of a jedi .

    I really don't like the new Marvin , he looks kind of Mangaled(sorry for the pun) , and dosn't look entierly crap as he did in the TV-show which really added to the charichter.. Actualy come ot think of it , most of the new costumes are rather odd and make the charichters look like Jedi knights

    Is it just me .. or does that statment sort of contradict itself.
    One of the main things I enjoy about Douglas Adams works is the humor .
    To be faithfull to his legacy i would say that you need to capture the "Funny" parts aswell as the other aspects , and the humor is pretty much one of the main aspects .

    honestly , You disagree with me , fair enough but chill out and loosen on the insulty and lets have a resonible debate like adults and quit the trolling and flamebait .

    Ok fair enough , its not much , but its still something , which is what i said and and only declared that some of us find that intresting , (dont count my spelling here) but i have alot of experiance in this field and trust me , not meeting your quotas is a major issue for a firm of this size. It may mean alot of things who knows , but its gives the investors the jitters and this can cause a shake in the confidence market that is economics.

    And i think your really playing more into what i say that i actualy said , all i was saying is we find it intresting , not that its the death knell of MS . so Stop with the hyperbole
    your last point is repetition of the first , fair enough your an MS fanboi .. I respect that , but please stop with the poor insults

    This issue itself is intresting though . Though i am fairly sure it was discussed a couple of years back when AMD introduced the non executable area in the Athlon and opteron chips

    If windows Ran on a RISC arch then it would be just as insecure .
    The fact is not that this issue is an insecurity in X86 but the fact that windows uses it .If you know of a flaw in your architecutre then why are you programing
    to that flaw .

    What your missing is the fact that it isnt the ammount but the fact .
    This is the first time in a good long time this has hapend .

    Failing by .003% or whatever is still failure .

    This may mean nothing , but on the other hand it may mean that OSS is finaly starting to break through and effect things , or that apple is hitting home with their bussines plans .

    We don't know exactly and its open to speculations and this is why its news on a site like slashdot .. so lets speculate

    One mans "Doing the bare minimum to comply" is another mans "Doing everything requierd of them".
    If you have a problem with how apple is handling the code releases .Your problem is not with Apple ,it is with the LGPL license.

    Personaly i belive perhaps they could make it a little easier on the KHTML Devs , though they are under no obligation to do this

    SO your basicaly saying Apple has a good business plan and make a quality product which they totaly admit partly comes from others work.

    They don't take credit for the lot, last time i checked .
    They only take credit for the inovations they add , apple have been quite open as to the fact that alot of darwin is based on free OS software ( i would say they publicised that to gain the OSS vote )

    As for the rest well , Apple Dont want to reinvent the wheel and i dont see the problem with that .

    Yep , The average voter does not care , Apathy is a major problem of todays world.
    I don't mind if someone is pro or anti IP laws , So long as they know for why.

    Indeed , the cost quoted by many companys such as MS is far in exageration to what i would consider resonible and 90% of it is Marketing(I use Marketing as a swear word )

    Incentives are needed yes , however it would be nice if we could find more people perminant positions researching .

    Yeah you are right , but one main problem ;) the congress dont seem all that willing to follow your constitution lately . This is the main stumbling block you will need to get over .. Dealing with the $ of the lobyist

    The problem is that copyright and patent laws are hardly ever enacted to promote science and IMHO never to promote the arts.
    Thankfully OSS is now gaining many freinds in big business ,IBM is a major proponent and cases like the SCO one have served to do a few things .
    Promote OSS , test many of its foundations , make alot of lawyers rich, Make the SCO CEO and freinds rich ,,from bleeding the company dry.
    Most importantly though it has been a major case that by its very nature may convert a few people in the larger Corperations towards reform of the US patent system for you lot and it will help keep it out of Europe and perhaps other markets(Such as india :D ).

    Personly i am for near total abolition of all patents(Definantly for software and theory patents) but thats just me , alot of people here are a bit more resonible and would only like to see an alteration of the laws to exclude software(algorythms are by their very nature discoverys etc)
